Robert Reifstahl, Peter Cohan and John Care are the three big authors imo. I do find myself tiring of Cohan as he is so blatantly aggressive with his marketing online.

I am also partial to Chris White. Met him in person and he is a genuine human. He has a weekly LinkedIn Live show that is excellent.

Outside of specific PreSales books, I really love Hess’s Selling is Hard, Buying is Harder and Voss’ Never Split the Difference.

Podcasts. Two PreSales in a Pod is probably the best. We the Sales Engineers seems the be the longest running, and therefore has tons of varied content. Burning PreSales from Consensus was the best but then they changed hosts.

For everything, The PreSales Collective is the best community to lean on and learn from.

When should a stub start getting worried about not having much work and low billable hours?
I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Anyone have any friends who successfully pivoted out of advertising? I know a handful of people who are half-trying to, but I can’t think of anyone who has made a clean break, on their own terms, into something that appears to be making them feel more fulfilled than they were in the ad biz. So they continue freelancing in order to make a living, while not gaining much traction elsewhere.

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call.
