One of the cashiers has a fling going on with a customer and she always insists on being the one to ring him up. She gives him her employee discount. Should I say something?

I haven't encountered a situation like this before. I think you should just advise her to let others ring up that customer especially during busy hours. Make sure she doesn't let him cut in front of other customers waiting in line.

Is there something in your policy prohibiting the employee from doing it? If so, then you should report it. Just make sure her services to other customers are not affected.

Just give her a little reminder to stay professional and not violate any company policy. Talk to the manager if things get out of hand. Best of luck!

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. What do I do?
