I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?
Thoughts??
Also, what do you prefer WFH or WFO?

I take depression and anxiety medication and have done for 7 years. I would suggest going to see your doctor as the can set you up with someone to talk to...just talking to people that understand can really help.
You're not alone. This industry is full of people who battle with similar issues. Talking to a therapist is a great start. If that doesn't do the trick I'd say consider meds. I put it off for 3 years before finally seeing someone and I can honestly say it makes life so much better.
Joining in the CBT advocates. I used that this summer and it made a big difference.
Exercise (particularly cardio), meditation, lots of high quality fish oil, high quality vitamin D. Add some daily mood tracking, and baby, you got a stew going!
Admitting it is the first step to taking real action. Just knowing what it is you're dealing with makes a world of difference, ie clinical depression or depression caused by life events and situation. Please seek advice, it helps. There's nothing to be ashamed of. All the best 🙂
All the advice above is great. Cutos for having the strength to ask for advice. Asking for help is half the battle, and just know you will get through this.
A psychologist is amazing to help the journey of feeling better. Just start there. It will be worth jt
I was shocked at how much regular yoga helped.
Doooooont go cold turkey. Stay firm with your doc that you want to go off and they'll help taper you off. Seriously some MAOIs have brutal side effects when you just cut them off. It's your health. Just be insistent this is what you want.
I recommend finding a psychotherapist as they have insight into treatment both with and without meds. Good luck <3
Therapy and meditation are a great start. I'm with OP hold off on meds and see if counseling plus a meditation practice help. Also cut down on or cut out completely caffeine (I know I know), cigarettes if you smoke, sugar and booze. Just doing that for a few weeks plus exercising regularly and sleeping 8 hours can have a positive effect. Hardest part is overcoming the depression and implementing some healthy habits, which therapy is a part of !
Balanced diet and regular exercise. They don't solve everything, but it makes things so, so much better. Find healthy food and activities that you genuinely enjoy, and make it an investment.
Go see a psychologist. Not a psychiatrist.
Therapy can work without meds but don't shut down all of your options.
I agree w psychologist over psychiatrist if you don't want meds pushed on you. Family history of drug abuse meant I didn't want to try them, although I know they work for many. Therapy helped me get over depression this year 🙂
I just went on something after 10 years of resisting. Can't believe the change almost immediately. I was terrified of meds but wish I had taken the leap sooner.
I think there is a huge fear of medication on our culture - I totally get not wanting to take (I didn't want to believe I had to take medicine every day forever because my brain is wonky) but it's made my life so much better. That being said, it's definitely not for everyone! And that's ok! Talk therapy has still proven very effective (check studies for the latest) and you should def check it out to see what works for you
See a specialist. Remember you are not alone. Especially in our lines of work! Practice yoga if you can. Try to stay away from caffeine. Try kombucha.
Great that you opened up and started talking about it. Call or visit your doctor today (or asap) and get advice on a therapist you can talk to. Sending positive thoughts. 🤗

Agree with the person who said get help today.
I also know someone who said fish oil helped her a lot, and she noticed the difference within 2 weeks.
Please take care of yourself.
@Strategist1 yep! Ive used it before. Awesome resource! I was able to pick a therapist close to me and the first 6 sessions were free. I ended up liking her so much I continued to see her for a total of 6 months.
