Should I go back to school for a technical bachelor’s degree? Ultimately, I want to be in cybersecurity. I have a bachelors in communications and and MBA. I’m currently an SEO Specialist. I’m about to finish the CS50 coding course taught by Harvard.

Go with a certificate. You have enough degrees and student loan debt already

like

Tell me about it.

You have enough education under the belt. Experience / certs for sure. No more debt

like

Better off getting a cybersecurity certification imo. Look at the hyperscalers and pick one, I know google has a security architect focused one.. but also get to know the rest of cloud architecture (infrastructure, networking, pipelines etc) all of that plays a factor.

Nice add, but personally would go Cisco or PANW before comptia.

How come I see posts like this every week. You don’t need a CS degree to be an engineer. Just do a bootcamp or some class and you’re good to go.

like

Fair enough

Wouldn’t help you to be honest. Build stuff, meet people, and work on building yourself up as a brand.

I recommend you take a look at the type of job openings you want and review their preferred qualifications. Is this technical bachelor degree required for your dream job? You also have to think about opportunity cost of not working and going back to school. Agree with the others on here that a certification may go further for your particular goal, but think about the real ROI for your next step before you take the plunge. Good luck!

Thanks!
