I just said I was in the Army, here’s my DD214, and said my ears rang when seeing a VA audiologist. The end.
I said I was around planes and helicopter, that was good enough
Recordings of me signing tone deaf versions of Lizzo songs did not further my claim
Honestly I didn’t submit anything. My background /MOS seemed to have been enough.
You need to prove you currently have Tinnitus, an event happened in the military that could damage hearing and the two are connected.
For proof of current diagnosis, a medical examiner's statement is likely necessary.
For claims related to ear plugs, I believe the event and connection can be established by proof of service during the period the devices were in use.
For other injury claims, you could get statements from peers or other proof which establishes you were in an area where an injury causes event occured while in the military.
Just my take, best wishes to you!
One of my DIVO tours was in engineering. They didn't question it as I said I was around loud machines.
Great point, they seem to accept the presumption of certain types of work being particularly likely to cause damage.
OP - I was in the infantry as well and working on getting a couple items added to my current list as well as a couple increases. My softest landing was the first. After that it was all over the place, rocks, payment, the upslope of a ditch, etc. naturally didn’t go to the aid station for any of that.
Try to make sure you can remember an incident or two that occurred that can be connected to it, even if it’s a vague generalization.
Oh and don’t forget to tell them that sometime you go soft in the middle of it, or can’t get it up, or can’t empty the tank. That comes with a no questions asked benefit.

I was signal but assign to tank unit. Let’s just say gunnery and combat is loud. Oh and m1 engines are very loud. Took a test and failed it. Got 10%
I just told them I was in the air Force. Maintenance squadron, F-16s and A-10s. I think it's 10% with no other documentation.
