I wish I knew how emotionally draining it can be in this field. I feel I have to be constantly "on" when working with customers but sometimes, it is a real struggle. Knowing what I know now after 10 years in the field, I might have chosen another career path.

SEs are what every executive thinks their AEs are.

In all seriousness depending on your company, I think SEs should be comped similar to AEs, though the standard is to pay SEs more salary and less of a split with commissions (usually anywhere from 65/35 to 80/20).

But yep— one can make themselves a fine little career in this racket.

The product really doesn’t matter.

Your company is NOT your family, and the one you live with is the most important thing in your life.

Loyalty is also a one way street in terms of employment. Always remember the point above and keep your eyes toward future opportunities to support your REAL family.

This post is an alert message for anyone joining the Johnson & Johnson EMEA account for SAP & had Rakesh Sharma for their Manager round.

He is nothing less than a con man & will promise you a lot to make you join the account. After that he will put you in testing projects. If you ask for a release, he will either not release you or release with a very bad rating and influence other project managers to not take you into their projects.

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.

Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).
