What are the Big 4? Discussions

Hi all, I am a senior looking to get into consulting. I’m studying Accounting and FinTech and with a very respectable GPA and have had 2 internships at B4 audit and F100 strategy. I know it is a little late for some full time roles, so any advice on companies or roles that would fit me would be appreciated.

what specifically worries you about exiting B4 for a TC $200K opportunity at a startup in this economic environment? Surely they wouldn’t lay you off until 12 months or so... right? if you were hired by the CEO

Applied to MBB last year as an undergrad and made it to final round interviews at McKinsey. Unfortunately, it did not work out. Joined the strategy practice of a Big 4 recently. When would be the best time to reapply as an experienced candidate?

How much should I expect as a salary for a Sr Associate Advisory at a big 4 (in US) in consulting?

Any other firms hiring Advisory(FAAS/CMAAS/ARA/AAS)? 1 YOE corporate and 1 full year audit at midsize firm as an intern where I also worked on a consulting project related. Seems B4 has slowed hiring except for Deloitte ARA Senior Assistant position I saw.

Supposed to interview next week with PwC Assurance and recruiter mentioned an offer within the week. Would prefer Advisory over returning to audit. Thanks!

Currently an SC at one of the big 4, ~124,000 in salary, 0-12% bonus. It’s my promotion year but I just got an offer from a smaller firm as Manager, ~145,000 in salary, 0-20% bonus. Big 4 seems to have better upward mobility but the offer seems pretty decent as well. Should I jump ship or stay?

Posting for my last firm: Great WLB firm with fantastic culture. I left because I want to go to big 4 to explore. Great bonus on top of very competitive annual salary (possibly 90-100 for senior). I loved my team a lot there and they truly want me to grow. They encouraged me to go for a big 4 to explore if it's a good career path for me. MA candidates plz. Anyone in the boston area looking for a good WLB tax senior job? My last firm is hiring. No minimum billable hours needed. Client facing tax role. Great bonus structure (my last payout was 20% of my annual salary and I was there for less than one year). Very competitive salary. I won't have left if not for going to a big 4. Great team. I love my team when I worked there and they were like family to me. They encouraged me to be brave and pursue big 4 if that's better for me in the long run.

I have got 6 years of experience and I have done MBA in finance. My last company was a Big 4. They are ready to pay me 9L and I require a 100% increment. will they give me 12 L? Should I accept 9 L?

I’m trying to get a Financial Analyst position and I heard back from Deloitte for the EFA (Enganemnt Financial analyst) role. I have no experience as an analyst so I figured this could be good way for me to break in. Does anyone have any experience from this practice? Salary/wlb/career path. I figure at the very least I can use the it for good foot in the door and a decent exit opp, as I know big 4 is notoriously a 2-3 year gig

Thoughts on small/medium firms? I floated my resume to a local ~40 person firm and one of the partners and a manager want to talk. I’ve never worked at any public accounting firm and have been sending resumes out to all the B4 and some regional firms as well. From what I can tell from their website the benefits are more or less in line with B4 and other firms.

Looking for advice. Based in the Bay Area and have 3.5 yr exp in IT Audit mostly SOX with a little SOC exp (ex big 4, couple of regionals) and have been applying to industry (mostly tech companies) since May. made it to final interviews only to find out hiring freezes were in effect or they went with a LCOL candidate.Would like to exit to a GRC role or a mixed role thats 50% sox, 50% varied projects, or a SOX role if the team culture is good. No luck getting in non sox work at current firm.
