Just had a phone meeting with a staffing agency director. I'm capable and qualified, but I don't deal well with rapid fire questions or high friction interactions, and I kind of feel like that's how it was. I have another on-site interview with a different staffing agency in a couple hours, and now I'm nervous. It's also been several years since I've had to interview or changed jobs. Any suggestions? interviewing with kpmg, i thought i’d have one manager, director, then a partner interview. but i’ve got another director interview. kinda nervous now, since i gave a good performance on my last interview and was just hoping to finish off with my partner interview. Coming from non consulting role, so any tips on my interviews would be appreciated as would any jokes and non-serious answers.

What’s a VP, Director? Interested in applying for a role with this title but I can’t tell if it’s equivalent to a traditional VP or if it’s equivalent to a Director.

Umm should I reach out to recruiter or wait and see or forget? So I am starting a new job next week and the company I interviewed for(Microsoft) before told me they liked me but they are having headcount issues and for me to check back with them. Even the director had a meeting with me after final round to determine fit and hr said I am a good fit. It is a government contract so maybe that's why.

Should I even bother with this or worry about it if they reach back to me?

Say that you live in country A. You apply to a job in company X in country B (connecting with a director through LinkedIn). 4/5 days after a recruiter talks to you for a position in company X but in country A. You strongly prefer country B over A, so you state clearly to HR that you're willing to be part of the process only if you can also interview in B.

You do not bring this up again and are in last round for X in country A. You have not heard back yet from B but prefer it. WWYD?

Advice on prepping for interviews for a strategy role? Role is in industry, Director-level, reporting to C suite. I know they are looking for someone to work with the org execs (C suite’s DRs) to set strategic objectives for the org overall, and then specifically for the different areas across the org. Also an element of representing the org / C exec as mouthpiece. Thoughts on how to best demonstrate previous strategy experience, especially from Big 4 consulting?

ACD interviewing with agencies for CD/ACD role. Then some brand recruiter emailed me about an Art Director position. Huh? 🤔 Do they even look at your resume or portfolio before reaching out?

Is EY’s experienced hire team as awful to everyone else as they are to me? No response to emails, do not honour time slots for phone calls. I can go on and on. It is putting me off pursuing the opportunity even though the director and partner came across really well during the interview and I am super excited about the job.

Preparing for a final interview with a director at Accenture. It's a case study interview. I have never done any of this but have been preparing looking with resources on the net to have a structure how to respond. Any advice for me for those at Accenture or big 4 who have done this? I have come this far for the final stages and can't afford to not get this job now

Currently in the US but interviewing for a UK-based firm and role. The comp level they are throwing around is £250k TC. Is this reasonable for a Director-level role with 12 YOE?

My comparator would be wait 18-24mo to become a consulting partner - in the US that starts at $450k/£325k.

For the purposes of this question, assume I’m optimizing for initial comp, not long term potential, and not livability, Intl experience, WLB, CoL etc.

What are people wearing to virtual tech interviews these days? M. Early 30s. Interview for a director role. Would assume at minimum a button down shirt. At most a blazer? Pants optional obviously..

Advice on applying for a job internally. Do I tell my Director? This is not for PwC- I’m currently at a public company. I’m afraid my director would find out if I don’t tell him in advance, but more worried he wouldn’t support me if I did tell him in advance. If I didn’t get the position I wouldn’t want to jeopardize my trust with the director…

Zoom interview w fintech startup for Director role… what to wear for top? 👩🐠

Need some advice. Got an offer this weekend but due to some family stuff recently, staying in the same city is my first choice. Is it possible to use the offer to help get an interview with for a more local role? For example, reaching out to someone (partner or director) and saying I have an offer but willing to take a lesser offer to stay local?

I’m interviewing for roles in pharma and want to sense check my salary expectation. MBB EM/PL level with 2.5 YOE in consulting plus a relevant PhD. Is TC 250-300k and exit at Director level realistic? I was told by a recruiter today that there’s NO WAY I would get that give my apparent inexperience. Should I adjust my expectations down?
