Is the FASB technical assistant role considered "prestigious"? Seems like my group (FAAS) really tries to recruit them and they come in as a senior with 1 yoe, while my dumbass had to grind in audit for 3 years for the same

Idk what to do. Manager position at Deloitte in high net worth private client services or go into corporate - blue cross blue shield tax manager making 130k in low cost of living Place. Mom of 3 kids and husband is a doctor what would you do? To me it sounds like blue cross doesn’t have any downtime during the year so for flexibility public accounting is probably better I am guessing. I currently work at EY as a senior about to be promoted to manager in the next couple months.

Is $80K in NYC for a senior analyst role (3 YOE) fair?

How many audit busy seasons do you need to switch from audit to FDD. My recruiter is telling me I need “two full years” to switch into a Senior role. “One full year” to switch into a experienced associate role. Is this true? I thought we just needed two busy seasons to switch into A senior role?

Title question: Recently I applied to a Senior Data Scientist role, however the title when HR reached out was Senior Analyst, Data Science. They do refer to it as a data scientist, so my question is: is that how it normally is- the title is “analyst”, “manager”, etc and the team is Data Science?

Anyone had a FAANG company try to mislead you in applying for a role you’re overqualified for, hoping you’ll jump just for the name? I was approached by Apple for a channel sales role. I made it clear that I have been a senior manager in the past, and wouldn’t take a more junior position than that. The recruiter said the seniority can be defined later, and we should just talk. Considering making a switch from practicing as a big law corporate senior associate (7th year) to a (non-practicing) practice manager role at another big law firm, primarily for lifestyle change. Other than the pay cut, anyone have insights or made this switch? Thoughts on whether it would difficult to transition back to practice (either in-house or big law) a few years from now if I want to practice again? Would my only exit opps. be to to similar practice management roles at other firms?

It checks all my boxes but I’m worried about being pigeonholed in compliance and not being competitive for legal roles down the line. In practice, this job would involve both legal and compliance work but I’d sit in compliance. Has anyone had any issues going from a compliance role to a counsel role, particularly in healthcare?

Going from midlaw to v25 firm as a senior associate, starting at new role next week, which will be a big promotion. The type of work I have been doing is representing one side of a transaction and new role will be different in that I will be mostly on the opposite end and may still be different type of client work. Is it okay to feel completely over my head? Any ideas to overcome this anxiety? Thank you.

I got laid off in December and am considering taking a massive pay cut for my next job. I was client side being massively overpaid, but always stressed and didn’t love the pressure of being senior.

Am I insane thinking about taking a 50% pay cut for a much more junior role doing work I was doing 5-7 years ago? But at a company I’m interested in?
