I have 3 YOE and have worked in multiple projects with great review yet I still feel imposter syndrome. I feel like I don’t have any skills and will get fired at any moment. How do you get past this feeling? I have gotten/working on certification to feel more secure but doesn’t help. 😞

For those who were laid off or unemployed during the past year - did you find a new job and if so how long did it take?

Does up or out or getting counseled out of the firm mean getting fired? How does the firing process work?

Does anyone else feel like their burn-out cycle is shorter?

It used to take me about 2 years of grind before I hit a burn-out phase where I needed to do some serious recuperating.

It feels like I'm at 3 months now, or even less. I've already spoken to my wife about building quarterly mini-vacations into my schedule just to keep my energy up.

And by burn-out, I mean you're at the point that every single ball you are juggling can drop and you get fired and almost see that as a blessing.

Laid off and unemployed for a while. How bad is it if I portray myself on job applications as still working at my former job?

In my first consulting job a few years ago I got laid off in a few months. 3 months later this firm hired me again for a contract role which I did for 2 months. Is it okay if I combine the experience in my first firm into one timeline? So (start date - contract end date)?

Given the 🔥 hiring market, did the layoffs 9-12 months ago cost firms more to just hire a bunch of people back? Firms paid severance back then to just now pay on boarding plus signing bonus plus training plus staffing.

Ex-Accenture (doing internal PM analyst work, laid off due to COVID but great relationships there/eligible for rehire), have two offers - just started as market research analyst in the marketing team in pharma biz market access or a new offer as a PM at data SaaS. I want to get back into generalist management project-based consulting, maybe even at Accenture. What would be better?

Got laid off recently and received a job offer with another firm within 15 days of termination date - Now filling out the background check form - should I enter laid off employer as current employer or previous employer - and if background check reveals exact employment dates including termination date which for me was just 15 days ago - Need to know any risk if at all / interview with my future employer started while I was employed and in the process got laid off

Which of these two can get a job quicker?
A. The one who resigned and currently unemployed
B. The one who got fired

Anyone ever have a Principal target you or threaten you? Like, try to get you fired?

Unpopular opinion: I would rather be promoted “too early” and fired shortly thereafter because I didn’t perform up to expectations than be held back to “set me up for success” without getting a chance to prove myself at the next level. Does anyone else feel similarly?

I’m not sure what to do. On a PIP and have a serious medical issue. Can i take LOA? Will I get fired? I’m on good track to make my way out of PIP, but scared to take time off for fear of losing job considering circumstance

Accenture layoffs who landed on their feet, curious to hear where you ended up

I’m starting grad school in the fall and want to take a 6ish week break of freedom using the PTO I have versus quitting and losing my benefits for that time and getting paid out for my PTO. I would quit right before school starts/when I run out of PTO. Has anyone done this? Would this make me at risk of getting laid off while on a PTO without a project? Would that even matter? I’m going to grad school for a career change if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Am I considered a job hopper - 3 YOE at company 1, 6 months at company 2 (they were bought out and started layoffs, so I left), about 2 years at company 3. I'd like to find a company to stay at, but it's like companies don't value loyalty or prioritize retention

Applied to a job at Nuveen. The online application asks if you've ever been fired from a job. It's a required question so I had to answer it. Fact is I was fired from my last job so I answered yes. Should I just forget about Nuveen? Why do they even ask this anyway? I've never in my life seen this question on a job application not have I been asked this in an interview...

new associate, manager caught me adding numbers wrong, am i going to get fired

Currently with a Salesforce boutique prod and consulting firm as a Manager and make around $135k base with 5% bonus. Very good WLB and loyalty perks. 0% Travel. No layoffs at all. I got an offer from Deloitte for a Sr Consultant position with the base of 145k. Yet to negotiate. I have total 7 yoe. Is this the right move considering just $10k increase in pay? How much Deloitte brand matters for exit ops? I prefer good WLB if not great and prefer travel to be under 50%

Tax question for any Accenture people who were part of the layoffs in August...did you see anything weird with state withholding on your W2? I relocated from VA to NJ in early 2020 and my state withholding switched to NJ when I moved. However (and I never noticed this at the time), all of my earnings, including severance, paid out PTO, and COBRA true up, are shown as taxable income in both states. My tax accountant is scratching his head.

Although have heard mixed opinions here ! People have mentioned that A&M has a great comp and at manager level one can make between 250-350k, on the other hand some people have mentioned that it is extremely difficult to make over 250k because utilization stays close to 60%. I also heard that the culture is cutthroat and one bad project can get you fired. They also mentioned that you are expected to work weekends. How true are these statements?
