How often does MBB hire experienced hires for BA/Associate or Senior BA/Senior Associate roles? Currently have 1.5 YOE at Big 4, M&A practice.

Going from Big 4 to MBB one level down but higher compensation. Worth it?

Is it impossible to pivot from post mba from big 4 to MBB? I am considering doing a sponsored mba at the big 4 so I don’t take on so much debt. I want to consider starting a family in the next 5+ years and already have huge undergrad loans

What are all the companies which offer front end consulting and follow the routine of Monday to Thursday at client site routine in India?

Known ones to me - MBB, Accenture Strategy, Kearney and Deloitte India. Other big 4 firms should also have this but I am not fully sure.

How difficult is it to lateral into MBB at the Consultant level from the Big 4 at Manager level? Are we looked down upon by MBB recruiters? No advanced degree but rapid promotions, CS UG, and interesting work profile over multiple territories. Do we need to ‘make up’ for anything?

How does staffing work at Strategy&? Is it like MBB where the next project is always random or is it like the rest of Big 4 where you have to network and partners pull you into their projects?

Serious question: I’ve worked in MBB, Big 4 and tier 2, and the number one reason I’ve heard for younger (less than 5 YoE) talent leaving is that they are “not doing strategy work.” It’s also the top request from younger staffers to do on every engagement team I’ve led. The question: Are there any consulting firms really letting new talent do this? Or is this the top delusion of new MBAs entering the consulting world?

I think being in US dominated chats makes it difficult for us to gage consultant compensation outside of US. I know the TC amounts to a lot less compared to US due to job market & better state welfare, but if you are MBB~Big 4 consultant in London, is it possible to have an upper-middle class life (let’s say ~3 kids, spouse doing ~50k job, detached house in Home Counties, HMC private schools, nice holiday once every few years, Rover and a mini)?

Does completing a year in a more technical role at a big 4 firm count for anything when applying for entry level at mbb?

Big 4 Manager with 5 YOE > Consultant at MBB - how would MBB recruiters look at that profile over someone with less YOE / lower last title but an MBA?

Which firms are openly hiring for entry-level jobs? I’m 1 year in and considering pivoting from IB to consulting. I have friends (MBB/Big 4) who can refer but not sure who to ask if, depending on whether those firms are even taking people.

MBB, Tier 2, Big four consulting 🐠, has any of your firm or your office entered at least the first phase of the return-to-office plan? To my knowledge consulting industry has been more conservative (almost everyone is still remote) and hasn’t made any substantial moves unlike banking industry, Is that true?

So Big 4 M with 5 YOE to BCG, no MBA: can I expect a Consultant role at BCG? Would they want me to get an MBA down the line? Essentially I want to skip the MBA and go straight to post-MBA type MBB roles but not sure if there’s totally unrealistic

(I am in the midst of an advanced round interview at a MBB and at a T2, but the levels have not been discussed very weirdly in both the cases)

Healthcare Consulting in Canada: MBB, Big 4 or boutique firms?

Potential opp to jump from client-facing risk consulting role at Big 4 to internal risk consulting role at MBB.

I like client facing work - new projects, travel etc. - but new role would likely be better hours and more pay (20-30%). Probably wouldn’t be long term either, possible to move to client facing at MBB?

For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2

For those roles in non strategy such as risk or implementation, does any of the mbb recruit out of non targets?
I'm a master's student in business analytics in a non target in NYC, and I really am interested in an implementation/ risk consulting at MBB.

Is it crazy to move from a consulting role at the Big 4 into a non-consulting role (talent role) at an MBB firm?

Those that went from MBB, Big 4/Tier 2 to PE/VC. It’s talked about a lot on medium, but not so much here. Anyone make over to that side? If so, what was your journey, what type of work did you do before vs now, how is the compensation, and is it really all that it’s made out to be?

I’m a strategy consultant in a brand/design firm, specialising in traditional branding, innovation and experiences. Was wondering about avenues to join Big 4 or even MBB as an experienced hire to work in consumer branding/innovation. Can I go in as a specialist? Would I need an MBA on top of my business undergrad?

Hi! Everyone, I am a PhD turned consultant with 2 years at big 4. I was wondering if there are openings at MBB that I can apply to? I am a molecular biologist by training and do life sciences consulting in the cell and gene therapy domain.

L1A visa question: I'm working at MBB and moved to Canada due to Visa issues. Now, my Immigration team is asking me to work on ONLY Canadian client projects so that I'm eligible for L1. Are you aware of any such eligibility criteria for L1A? I know so many people from Big 4 who go to India offices and continue to work on US clients, and then get L1 visa.

Is jumping from Big 4 strategy to MBB or a strategy house worth it at the associate level? Is there a sweet spot to make the move?

What is the difference between getting life sciences consulting expertise at a life sciences boutique firm vs at bigger generalist firms (MBB/big 4)? How are the projects different and what type of experience do u gain?

MBB and Big 4 folks - question regarding tuition benefits. I left D for Corp strat this year for family reasons and better job security during pandemic; my biggest regret is probably not being able to take advantage of tuition reimbursement, and I’m still thinking about ways to get my MBA.
IIRC Deloitte offered partial reimbursement to post-MBA hires if they MBA-interned at D. Do MBB or other Big 4 offer this same or similar benefit? Evaluating whether eventual return to consulting is worth it.
