I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?

So I got 2 offers, 1 at a well-known firm (that I previously worked at, not as an atty) that offered 80K plus full benefits (100% health coverage, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus & 1800 billable req.) Their a little old school in their methods but I do see the younger gen. coming in to make changes. 2nd offer is at a newer firm however i’ve heard great things, and they offered 80k, unl. PTO, 1500 billable hours, bonus incentives qrtrly, & 50% health ins. WHY can’t I make a decision? HELP

Just accepted a position as a Claim Specialist (Salaried) at State Farm in Atlanta. Start date is pushed out couple months from now. Does anyone know if the company pays twice a month, or biweekly? Forgot to ask the recruiter.

Random Tangent: After year end results were delivered, staff received meager 3.8% adjustments, which is far from the news reports of 7.9% USA inflation. In short, essentially everyone in the company just took a paycut. And yet there's bafflement in the C suite when we see less than a week later a handful of key contributors leaving.

Has anyone transitioned from one consulting firm to another a few years into the director / senior manager level?

Legal discovery question for California: can we serve a plaintiff in a related case by depo notice or do we have to subpoena? We are defense counsel for case A. Case A and B were deemed related by the court. Cases have not been consolidated yet. There are 5 related cases. The Court ruled that depositions are to be global—meaning all counsel from the other cases can ask questions to the deponent. We want to depose Plaintiff in case B.

Corporate revolver commitment selldowns: I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone out there have experience with banks selling down corporate credit facility commitments? I’m specifically looking for some deets on what sort of prices banks are willing to accept to offload their revolver commitments to levered borrowers when over credit risk limits. Obviously they are structured as points upfront, but does anyone know where these revolver trades price? 99? 97? 95 90?

Why is it so wrong to talk about pay at work? I never understood it…how am I supposed to know I’m making what I should be making in my field?

Offered a freelance gig in brand strategy and planning for a pitch after my layoff. I was being underpaid at last gig ($60k, 4 yrs experience) and want to make $80-100K. Should I divide by 52 x 40?
