I would but I don't think anyone would want him.
This one made me laugh! Love it!!!
Nope, I don't. There's no reason for me to it. Actually, he should be the one to gift me since he's always been asking me to get him some coffee and he never pays me back. So he should give me a coffee machine so I can give him the largest coffee there is.
Hahahaha!
Gift down, not up.

No.
I gift my staff & supporting teams.
I've given small gifts to managers in the past, but most are thoughtful gestures for those who I generally liked and appreciated. I don't think it's necessary, and certainly wouldn't spend a lot of money. But if you feel compelled to recognize your boss for being good to you all year, why not?
I do, but I always gift everyone on my team. I don't have any direct reports, but if I did maybe my strategy would change.
I always do a small similar gifts for anyone in my group (and maybe the group I work with most). I never spend more on a manager compared to another colleague.
I've been very lucky that my managers at my current company have always been kind and respectful, which I know is a huge factor in how I handle this issue.
Also...there were some Christmases where I knew I wouldn't have anything to open. The little gifts I got at work gave me something to look forward to. I guess that's the big reason why I do it, in case someone is having a rough holiday season and they might not have anything else to open that year.
Hell no. This is so old school and annoying. Last year my team members pooled together to get our boss something and I was SO ANNOYED but couldn’t be the only one who didn’t.
They did this twice at two previous companies I worked for, and I opted out.
Yes if i like them. I don’t do it for every boss.
I give my bosses something like homemade cookies or chocolate. You’re appreciating them but without putting a price tag on it.
I think that's a great way to spread cheer during the holiday season. It's a very thoughtful way to handle the gift giving debacle we all run into.
Definitely not. They make plenty and don't need anything from me. If anything I think gift giving in the work place is super awkward.
If I had a boss I really loved I might give them a card with a nice thank you inside but that's about it.
Yes, I have always gave my boss's something throughout my career.
Never actually they make way more than me. I will gift down but not up!
No, only to my direct report(s).
Yes. I like to give gifts. If I get a big raise, I give a bigger gift to remind them it’s a meritocracy.
I like the idea of giving gifts as well. I was always taught that its the thought of giving and not receiving. So I always like to give every year to as many people as i can afford, even if its something small.
I do, simply because I really like and appreciate my boss. She does a lot for me and our team outside of what the job requires of her, so I want her to know that she is appreciated. It's a small gesture, but sometimes those go a long way! I would also note that I don't feel obligated to give her anything, and have not always given gifts to my bosses in the past.
Last year as a team we did, but this year we did not. Our boss got us all something last year but this year did not. This past year has been so stressful for our whole team that I think we all just forgot haha. I prefer no gifts both ways though. I heard the previous team used to go out to dinner but I think that would be awkward.
I did not. I used to but I stopped since he doesn't appreciate it. My co-workers stopped as well. Lol
