Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking for Tier 1 IT work(remote/onsite) and it’s been kind of difficult. I‘m getting the occasional interview and job offer. The problem arrives post interview, whether it be that I‘m denied or further research on the company compelled me to not take the job due to horrible business practices. As of right now I’ve been off and on studying for my A+, and at this point I’m willing to work a part-time job just so I have something else to do in the meantime.

In this job market, I feel like we don't have the luxury to turn down job offers. That's how I feel anyway.. I would literally do anything (within reason) to make a decent living right now and not be piecing together random freelance things. So I'm with you (but not sure I would ever turn something down right now).

The main issue is the paper ceiling, and or certs. Most companies really want those requirements. I think the research was valid. Good job for taking care of your mental and physical health. Don't let a job ever deteriorate your sanity.

I have entry-level cloud certifications from AWS and Microsoft, CompTIA's A+, Linux+, Network+, Security+, and 3 years experience and cannot find a role at the moment. Tech is not what it used to be and there are hundreds of thousands of others like me searching right now. Just an A+ is not enough.

OP this is a very challenging job market and its taking a lot of people forever to find jobs because there just aren't that many. That being said I would highly suggest networking and trying to get referrals. Sometimes a referral can help you get your foot in the door somewhere.

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.

Recently left the Big4 without a job lined up. I’m hearing all my friends talking about busy season woes and I’m so grateful to not be in that position. I keep thinking of the long hours and it’s making me not want to job hunt. I’ve been looking at industry related tax roles, and generally like accounting but am open to exploration. Is there any such role that gives good comp, great work/life balance (I don’t even wanna be near 60 hours), and overall interesting role/company?
