Hey. So I've been in my first I SDR job at a newer Fintech for just about 8mo. I've promoted to Sr. SDR 2mo ago. After talks with my management there are no AE positions open nor would they consider me for one, The only other step up for me would be an ISR, which is basically a SMB AE. The problem is they only see promoting two or maybe three in the next year but there are about 10 people in the running they said it's "performance based" no set target to get it.
Should I consider other jobs?

If AE is your goal, you most likely will have to.

Unfortunately we can’t change the company alignment for AE positions. The market is rough right now but staying in this role post 2 years Can give companies pause since it’s generally not a position people stay in long term

If you have an opportunity for an ISR role, I'd shoot for that. Any experience closing is what you need. It sucks because if you jump ship and start over at another company you basically have to work your way up again. I'd stay put for now. The market is crap and lots of competition for SDR, AE roles.

5+ years of full-time job as developer and still waiting to reverse a LinkedList at work.

Since there is a heavy impetus on solving Tree, LinkedList, and Graph problems for tech interviews, it can naturally make freshers believe that these concepts will be used in day-to-day life at work. In reality, most of these DSA concepts are already implemented in some libraries our code uses and we rarely have to code such Algorithms by hand.
