The cohort model has wiggle room because there are vertical and lateral levels to it. You could push for a “higher” (or more rightward) spot on the grid where you could get higher pay. And obviously a third year associate will have more pay than a second year.
That said, I can’t imagine with just 2 YOE you have all that much room for negotiation. And any negotiation would equalize pretty quick against your peers once you move vertically, which could just be several months.

Not sure. I’m not sure it’s all that worth it at your level. You need to know where they’d plan to bring you in in the first place. A2? A3?
Your base is pretty much set but you can negotiate a sign on bonus

I don’t think it would reflect negatively. You are a professional negotiating what it will cost to hire you. Set expectations early.
If your expectations exist well beyond pwc’s scale for a given role, then it’s better to get that out of the way early.
As P1 said, I’d temper your expectations on what concessions you will get. 2yoe doesn’t give you much ability to negotiate in experience, expertise, connections, or demonstrated value, but you should be upfront with what it will take to hire you away from your current firm.
