How often do you get face time (call, zoom, or otherwise) with your boss?

Senior revving up to manager promo. Only nervous about one thing at the manager level which is having to answer pointed “Why??” questions from higher up clients on live calls. Any one else work through something like this? I’d appreciate any tips or suggestions as I really suck at dealing with unexpected push back.

I told my boss about my ADHD in confidence because I was looking for a small accommodation (working from home x2 a week). I got it, but now I lowkey feel like she told other people in the office. I have been in an awkward reporting structure for 2.5 years. On record I’ve reported to the VP of Marketing, who was crazy toxic, and technologically inept. I’m a senior website manage and she had no interest in my role. She shirked me off to also report to her two directors, PR and Call Center. Needless to say, that’s been a difficult situation for me. Been for a company for over 2years. The executive team is very much a boy's club. There are a few women in management roles but zero ethnicity diversity there. I raised my concern to HR in feb. And they are just now deciding to do something about it. They want me (white female) to put together a diversity committee. Any suggestions on how to go about it? I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations. I just recently joined a small organization that I have wanted to be a part of for the past 2 years, accepted the role of general manager. This organization knew that I don’t have general manager experience, no payroll experience, no experience setting prices, no purchasing experience and today, 6 days after starting, I have been asked to step down due to not being confident that I will be ready in 3 weeks…

My Creative Directors, who are strong copywriters, are really struggling to collaborate with Art Directors. Are there programs or classes that teach creative collaboration and the creative process?

Our annual reviews are approaching & one of my direct reports has been with us for almost six years w/ little growth. My reco was to let him go & find a stronger, hungrier & more motivated designer at the same level. However, my boss instead wants us to promote him in hopes that will spark some motivation. I am not behind this decision & have voiced my multitude of concerns in promoting an employee who doesn't deserve it. HR is behind the decision! Thoughts on promoting an undeserving report?

So my team currently uses onenote to house all of our SOPs and reference guides, but it’s becoming a monstrosity and it’s really hard to search and navigate. What programs do you use to provide your team with resources? Or is there some trick to onenote organization that we are missing maybe?

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle.
