How often do you interact with your employee resource groups at your organization? If you do, how often do you interact with those that you don’t directly identify with?

I interact with the women's group on a monthly basis for our monthly coffee chats, maybe more if there's an event running - if I participated more of the leader teams I imagine I would interact more

like

Do you enjoy the interactions you have?

I spent 3 years in a dei lead role where I was directly responsible for the success of the ERGs. While I openly identified with several, I didn't participate in any activities.
The main reason was to avoid the optics of favoritism. I met with each of my ERGs weekly during their creation and then monthly thereafter. I also tried to stay available a couple of hours a week for ad-hoc requests.

like

It can a really thing balance. Especially when you're passionate about the work. I how that you both have found have found a way to strike that balance.

I don't interact with the employee resource groups at my job because I don't directly identify with them. I don't want to feel like an imposter.

Allies are super important to ERGs! I would recommend joining one and introducing yourself

Need advice - I've been talking to a Partner contact at a big-4 firm where I REALLY want to work. She sent my info to the managing partner in my city, but I haven't heard anything for about 3 weeks. Been playing it cool because I know these things can take time, BUT, I just got let go from my current firm. I have til 12/15 to find a new job.

Do I tell her my timeline is now a month, or is telling them I'm getting fired going to tank my chances of getting the job?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

I had my 3rd & final interview last Friday. My recruiter doesn’t communicate well nor does she let me communicate with the company direct. May I being led on? Hello!

I am being tapped to translate documents at work. I’ve done spot translation audits, and 1 larger Quality assurance document earlier this year, but was recently contacted about a potential large-scale translation initiative for next year.

Has anyone been compensated for these sorts of projects that would be “out of scope” for their role? How do you go about asking for compensation? Have any of you spun out and created translation service side-gigs?
