As someone who struggles with depression daily, thank you for looking out for your friend. I don’t have anyone that I confide in nor do I think anyone knows that every day feels like a battle against myself, aside from my boyfriend and parents. Just knowing someone is there who cares means a lot!

Do? I offer to hang out, but she often doesn’t want to go out or hang or anything. Anything else I should be doing to help her through her depression or to maintain some stability?

Sounds like you have been a great support to her. If she doesn’t want to go out, you may also as her if you may visit her if she like to have some casual chat or motivation to do some house work. Yes, check if she is actively going to a psychologist/counselor/therapist. I highly recommend going to one weekly/biweekly - it’s been beneficial to me in the past.

Sleepover and hangout get food work out, go to the movies do real something, “ don’t be just there” do something engaging something real or just sit on the couch eat popcorn beside him or her 😊 wish you well

Assuring her you are there is the most important. Someone with depression and going through a rough patch will not want to hang out or go out. Tell her that’s ok - be empathetic - and tell her when she is ready you will be there. Be patient. Also think it’s a good idea to ask her if you can come over and just be with her and be ok with doing nothing - and tell her you are ok doing nothing you just want to be there physically for her. You are a kind person to want to be there for your friend and help her. Sometimes it just takes time and patience.

It sounds like you’ve done what you can. Avoid being judgmental and continue to reach out to them so they know you’re there and care. Also consider suggesting they seek out therapy. You can’t take the wait if their problems onto your shoulders alone

Just ask to come over and watch TV. It’s less threatening than sitting face to face and she’s more likely to say yes if she doesn’t have to expend mental energy to leave the house. Once you’re there she may rise to your energy level. Or not.

Just be there and listen.

I think that I have eating disorder. I am always hungry but when I get food I can’t finish it, usually I am done after 2-3 bites and then I am hungry again after an hour. Anyone has similar issues? Have you been to a nutritionist or dietitian? If yes, is it covered by Insurance?

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. It's very annoying and I find it to be really inapprorpriate, maybe because it's pushy or just I find these comparative things to be a bit irrelevant. How does one handle something like that? 1 week sober! Over the last 12 years (I’m early 30s) I’ve reached this point just a handful of times. Alcohol is deeply intertwined into my social life much like everyone’s is I imagine. Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward.
