Hi, I been working for Lloyds Bank for almost 9 years now , I recently attended a interview for Barclays and offered an Senior Business Analyst AVP role in Wealth and private banking area. I did not see much difference in the salary offered and it is pretty much same ie 68.5k.But the difference is current role is London based, however the Barclays one is based in Glasgow where cost of living is less in comparison. I am unable to decide whether to take the offer or not..any suggestions will be helpful pls.

Remember they are interviewing you as much as U are interviewing them. I like to ask questions such as : what are your expectations for the person in the role, what would you like to see done differently from the person in the role preciously. Make sure you can speak to your experience as it relates to what is in the job description and add any ideas or plans floating around in your head or good]gme ideas to be ready.
Thank you, this is very helpful.
No advice but here to say congrats on the potential opportunity and good luck!
Congrats!! It sounds like you'd be a great fit for it and they know it. Best of luck! I'm sure the prep call with the recruiter will be super helpful, and you'll do great. :)
Remember the recruiter is on your side.
If they are successful in placing you in the role, it’s typical for a permanent placement firm to receive a one time fee of 15% of your starting salary (paid by the client firm in addition to your salary, not from it.)
You are basically their horse in the race, & you’re competing for the clients favor against candidates put forward by other firms, & any candidates the company has been able to locate and cultivate on their own (HR efforts)
Great point. Thanks a lot!
I just saw this post. Probably too late to give an advice. just wanna say congrats and good luck!
Not at all! The meeting with the company is scheduled for 12/21/22. Any advice in preparation for the meeting will help. Thank you!
Hi, OP! You can ask questions about the job opportunities for that role. The expected timeline for promotion is a good topic as well.
*UPDATE 12/22/22* Thank you all for your tips. So far so good! I made it through the interview via Zoom with the COO and the Head of HR at the company. I liked the company and its values. The feedback the recruiter received was positive. Now I was invited for an onsite visit in January to meet again with the COO and other members of the team. Also, HR wants me to take an online “Achievers profile test”. What is this test? Is it there a way I can prepare for it?
Sounds like you really want this job. Gosh. I can’t remember the last time I felt that excited over a job. Good for you. Good luck. And btw I’ve never head of that test. Google it.
The meeting with the company is scheduled for 12/21/22.
