Wrongful termination suit?
I smell a lawsuit!
That is definitely a lawsuit. Omg I smell $$$$$$$$
First of all, I understand as I too have CKD. Did you disclose that you had a disability to your former employer? It’s best to be open with employers and let them know up front if special
accommodations are needed. To any prospective employer, be honest.
You have a disability, you didn’t disclose it, and were terminated because of something related to your disability. That’s all you need to say. Let them know that it shouldn’t interfere with your ability to carry out your responsibilities.
Just answer it with the company decided to goin a different direction which you were not going to be a part of.
I’m not one to litigate either, but it is something that is out of my control and I shouldn’t be penalized because of it. Maybe an attorney on here could offer advice?
I doubt there are a lot of lawyers perusing the Jobs in Sales board so I wouldn’t wait until one magically shows up where you happened to ask the question. I’m sorry you lost your job over this, it seems unfair and you didn’t deserve that. Good luck!
My manager knew that I have CKD as well as insulin dependent diabetes.
I agree with many comments here that you may have grounds for wrongful termination / discrimination against a disability. When they discussed the termination was there any discussion about what/why it happened, or was it more of a one-sided conversation? If they didn’t ask whether this could have been related to your medical condition or give you a chance to explain, I’d say it was very callous on their part and definitely time to consult an attorney.
I’m not one to litigate but it’s time to seek representation. Call some lawyers. Maybe you won’t need that new job!
Be honest and upfront. Admit why you were let go and speak to how you are addressing your health/work balance to ensure you fulfill your obligations. You will never gain favor by making excuses, even if you’ve got a very valid one. They’ll respect truth and ownership.
wow that looks awful.. best of luck
