I had an interview w/ the Hiring Manager at Boston Consulting Group for a position and it went so well that the HM said on the spot I was going to be moving onto the next round. Its been weeks since that interview & I've had to follow up w/ the recruiter 3x asking for an update. I mentioned interviewing elsewhere but prioritizing BCG. He finally responded to that saying he was going to debrief with the HM and get back to me but nothing... what gives?

Maybe not sad, but very disillusioned at what I thought it would be.
In what way? Would you mind sharing? I'm only a few years in so I'm wondering if I should be doing things differently...?
Stay in it for 25-30 years, you might be singing a different tune about sped.
That I don’t really know. I’m a school social worker, but I’m close with others on almost every team/school I’ve worked in.
The sped teachers that I knew very well who eventually went back to gen ed after years and years as a sped teacher cited burnout, too much paperwork, too many students to service, all of the behavior problems and too much legal paperwork.
On the other hand we do have some sped teachers who rarely leave their positions, but it seems they work in secondary.
For me personally, I’m honestly tired of teachers who I see scream at kids at the entire classroom or scream at an individual kid and then yell at me when the kid from her class is in my office. This is a trauma kid I’m working with (he is actually moving foster care homes tonight, it’s his 12th home, 3rd one this yr 😢).
Please know that if a teacher screams at a class or student, any trauma kid in that class is going to have a trauma response, fight, flight, freeze. Don’t yell and scream at me for a kids response to your scary behavior.
