I take around 30 working days at year. And you?
Doing this from now on. I’ve kept my days at 18-19 this year but I realise I need more time off 🤣. Thanks for the inspo BBDO1 and AD1
Take as much as you possibly can. Don’t be someone who’s concerned about too much time, ask for what on want and if they say OK then don’t think twice about it. If they don’t want you taking the time, they have an opportunity to tell you that when you ask for the time off.

I’ve seen resourcing managers/management get mad at people who take four weeks. It’s trash but it’s true.

I agree. But my last two RMs would balk and say things like “they don’t take the job seriously,” “they’re gone too much to be placed on good briefs,” etc.

I don’t take enough. I actually take less than the 36 days I had earned pre-FTO. I was more keen on taking them when I knew I “earned” them and thought I needed to “use them or lose them.” It’s a weird psychology.
FTO/UTO is the biggest scam ever. Take what you would normally take and add another week or two. All you need to be is smart about it, don’t take time off during a big project or post production.
That just means they are declining paying you out when you leave the agency for time you worked for them.
I mean my agency says we have “unlimited PTO” but then gets upset once you hit 12 days of PTO so 🙃
One you don’t want to be at
I think what you need to consider is frequency and quantity. Frequency is if you take a few days off every month, should be fine as long as you’re covered and you cover your team when it’s needed. Quantity is knowing you’ll be out a few weeks this month so planning the year and being able to cover your teammates for a few other months.
It’s mostly consideration for your team. A good team works it out together to plan coverage and encourages breaks for those who don’t take much, so its balanced.
I think 4-6 weeks is reasonable.
25, and ppl think it’s too much
I’m around 25-30 per year and I usually feel like I’m taking advantage pretty well. After seeing this thread I need to up my game.
