I’m on the edge of loosing my first job as an audit in PwC. No I did not do anything wrong, I just feel not much support from my team and my honest conversation with them won’t make them keep me stay that is how I feel. I’m searching job everyday, and I’m feeling fear not to find a good one I want before getting fired. What if I end up finding another job I hate more. Any advice? Still want to be an auditor or a consultant but my experience is only one year.

Are you quitting or they’re firing you? I’m confused

like

They will after my conversation with them!! So I will quit before they fire me

funny

The will not fire you, everyone is hemorrhaging accountants. Ask to be on another engagement.

Public accounting isn’t for everyone… but also sometimes the firm you’re at isn’t the right fit. You should be able to transfer to another firm pretty easily…

Have you tried another team? Are you already on a PIP?

Seems a bit excessive to leave after one bad team. The beauty of working in PA is that there are so many options of teams without having to quit your job...

like

What was the feedback they gave you/how do you know you are getting fired?
I've seen a few underperforming associates (on PIP etc) never seen one actually getting fired …especially just after one year. Normally even if you perform poorly as A1 you get put on PIP first before just getting fired. Unless you've been on PIP for a few months and were not making improvements.
I would really make sure you understand the feedback/knowing what the issue was,PwC doesn't fire people just bc you don't fit with your team.
And it's no prob if you want to find something different/feel like the culture doesn't fit, but knowing what the issue was could prevent you from having the same issue again on your next job (exactly like what you said in your post, what happened if you also hate your new job? )

What level are you at? If your a 1st or 2nd year I would just be a team player and do what is asked of you. Hard to give advice without knowing the details of what is wrong and what you mean by your teams not being supportive. Are you being coached out or looking to quit? Feel those are 2 very different things.

It took me three jobs in less than a year to find the perfect fit.

What do you not like about PwC? Is it the actual nature of the work, or the amount of work, or is it your specific team is annoying? Those are the questions to ask yourself. If it’s just the people you can go to any other public firm coming from PwC. If it’s cause you hate accounting you have more questions to ask yourself. Happy to refer you to my firm, but my advice to think out what you really want to do with you life.

WFH Vs WF Office Vs Hybrid, Which one should you take?
If you are fresher, go for a WF Office setup. You will learn things beyond your work. In the initial phase of of your career, one needs to focus more on learning than on comfort. The interactions at office, meeting with collegues, conversations at the cafeteria, sense of responsibilty, the need to walk up on time to reach office etc will shape you for better.

Once you have a work experience of few year then any setup is fine. Go for WFH.

Hi, weird question for this forum, so I apologize. I’m trying to be creative here and use the tv stand that I have. The issue is that it has an open back so you can see all my tv wires. I can’t hide the wires because my building won’t let me open the wall. My idea was to slip a tile sheet that is wall behind the tv stand as a back, but I need the tile cut to the specific heigh and width of the tv stand. Does anyone know where I can take this tile sheet to get cut to the specific measurements?
