I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

Well, it is nice to work remotely when you have a cold and want to stay away from everyone, but if you truly are sick, you should just take the day off and rest to get better. Your health is more important than your job. You cant be productive at work if you are very sick.
That's so messed up. Did you take your PTO? get well soon.
Don't work anymore. Prioritize your health over work. I hope you feel better soon.
What? That's so inhumane. What's the difference? You're still working either way.
That's horrible. You should take a day off. Your health should come first.
How about your PTO? You should take at least 2-3 days. Don't push yourself too much.
Your day won't be productive, OP. Trust me. You cannot do your daily task if you're not feeling well.
