Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice everyone, it’s much appreciated. I was curious about the possibility of it but it sounds like a no go to be safe
Yes potentially for both firms - if you were starting with us this would be an absolute no go
Why risk it? Push your start date out by a week.
In the UK we sign contracts that say you cannot have another job (without approval).

Same thing with the US. And it’s especially important with Big 4 firms since we audit as well. It’s dumb to risk it. Worst case scenario, just give a 1-week notice if you’ve already committed and can’t push your start date back. You’ll burn a bridge at the old firm, but at least you aren’t breaking a contract at your new firm as well
Glad you are concerned, there are people out here working 2 jobs and all
Do not do this for a few thousand dollars. Might cost you dearly in the future when a few grand is irrelevant. Especially working for B4.
This would be fine if you were going to a tech company, bank or something.
DO NOT DO this if you’re going to another consulting firm.. I thought about doing this too until a friend saved my ass last minute 😂
How would they even know though? I understand on paper it is a no go, but would they ever even catch it?

At B4, we get audited to ensure we are fully independent. It’s a pretty massive fine by the SEC if we are found to be in violation, even for advisory only personnel, so I’d say the risk is definitely material
