So just started this recently. Do a few things:
1) create a stressors list. If you feel like something is stressing you unnecessarily remove it or work to remove it from your life
2) get help! Not even being sarcastic, reach out to friends, family, etc. I went right to my doctor who gave me anti-anxiety medication and it’s been a world of difference. I also started to see a therapist which has been great for me. My teams have been fully understanding because they knew how miserable I’ve been because of this.
3) be realistic with yourself. Why are you getting like this? Is it work, family, etc..? Spend the time on yourself to be introspective and understand what is causing you to be like this.
4) make time for you. We have stressful jobs which take up a lot of time. I make sure I have one hour for me daily, regardless of what is going on. Do something you don’t get time to do often (for me it’s cook, read a book, play switch) so it helps you feel complete.
5) this is more of a personal suggestion but work out because iron doesn’t lie.
6) consider getting an adult fidget toy for you at work. It helps to do something with your hands when anxiety kicks in.
I hope all goes well for you and know you’re not alone with this problem.
No problem at all. I forgot to add breathing exercises. I meditate at work for 15-20 minutes a day. Makes me feel better and that’s all that matters to me. I let my team know, I’m doing breathing exercises, I need this time, unless my clients stock just crashed, leave me alone.
It sucks. Tried therapy for a bit but personally did better with more rest and a lot more exercise. When I have a panic attack now, which are rare, I tend to deal with these like residual panic attack for a week or two after. Hang in there and talk to your doctor. Start with healthy habits and don’t discount the usefulness of therapy or medicine
Also check around for any environmental factor. Smog/mold poisoning can be a huge factor in quickly appearing anxiety issues and can present as sinus or heart attack feelings. If you recently moved to a new place might be something to consider.
