Nothing wrong with public school inherently, yes they can get exposed to sin easily but that’s not to say they won’t get exposed to it from a “home school” crowd. If you’re convicted to lean one way or another based on what works for your family, go by that, but don’t rely on school to do the “parenting” or biblical teaching for you.
Pro
Catholic school or home school, here. Have friends interested in doing a Pod, together, for our kids
If you don’t want sin to be aggressively pushed on your kids, you can’t do a secular school anymore
I’d put myself in the Biblical-worldview camp of Christians. Currently have my 4yo in a hybrid Christian setup but moving to a homeschooling hybrid next year. Nieces and nephews are homeschooled and able to accelerate their studies and not be slowed down by the standard pace of coursework in a traditional classroom setting. The focus on personalized learning is appealing to us
We are putting our 3 kids thought catholic school, could not be happier with the values they are taught and the quality of the education. On top of that a massive community feel with so many events for parents to meet such as dad groups etc. It’s not even that expensive (if you “shop” around). A total no brainer especially these days when public schools indoctrinate rather than than educate.
Do what God tells you to do. Listen to God’s voice.
I think it’s important to look to scripture here and not just “wisdom” (not saying the other isn’t important!). Jeremiah 29:4-7, we are exiles living in the world and we are called to be in the places where we live. I think we have to seek a good education for our kids, and not just avoid public schools because they’re not explicitly Christian. Senior 1 nailed it with the amount that needs to happen at home regardless of where you send to school
