I love puzzles. SALT is lots of fun puzzles.
Very true!
It’s literally so fun. You work in the grey so you can do fun research for the answers. The software is cool, you can get into really fun project’s. It’s a lot of problem solving. You become a specialist so you get asked cool questions, zero time for mundane foolishness like highlighting excel sheets just a lot of meaningful work😊😊😊The hours are manageable as it can be in accounting.
It is always changing and the need will never go away(job security). Most SALT groups do more consulting than compliance which is great because you get to interact with clients from staff and senior position. Additionally, there are so many specialty practices (I/F, Sales, excise, property, unclaimed property, Telecom, etc) that you can be an expert in a niche area that is in demand. Also, the people tend to be more laid back. Happy to talk more if you’re interested.
I appreciate the insight! I’m hoping that my experience will be similar to that!
Generally the interaction with people is my favorite part. It’s a nice mix because I get to walk through the whole process of businesses that people are generally excited about running. That mixed with some time in excel and researching tax law it’s definitely a nice balance and doesn’t get too mundane
I like that I’m always learning
I work in SALT too.
