What’s the market rate for an 8th year associate in a HCOL city at a Big 4?

Many of the HCOL cities/states have pay transparency laws. I would look at the online postings.

For example, Littler has a 5-7 yoe posting in NYC right now for $280-$315, a 4-6 yoe in LA for $260-$295, and a 4-6 in Boston for $240-$270.

Making $240,000-ish base as a 7th year at JL in CA

I'm at FP and the ranges from A1 look about right. FP has a better bonus (I think), so our base salaries might be marginally lower.

Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4. So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Saw someone asking about high-rise apartments in Mott Haven earlier. Just moved into a new apartment building here and honestly it’s not as bad as I thought. New buildings are safe and pretty spacious (relatively speaking). Downside is not really much to do around this area and food delivery is not great. Hope this is helpful for any one who is looking at this area.
