Has anyone ever worked at ELA in Los Angeles? If so, how was the culture, work, and benefits? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

What are some of the best tuition reimbursement experiences you've had in the industry?

How is the (salary) negotiation process different between the US and Europe (specifically Germany)?

Is there any reliable source of information about salaries in advertising (other than Glassdoor which can sometimes be outdated)? Is negotiating for PTO/benefits common?

I started at the beginning of May at a new company as an Account Executive (3 long years as a AAE at my old company) - I was onboarded for two months and then my boss, who I LOVE left for maternity leave for 4 months. My next direct report was in a VP/Director role so wasn’t as close to the things I was doing and I had to learn a lot on my own and problem solve 24/7. It’s now November and was wondering when it would be appropriate to bring up the conversation of a Senior Account Executive role?

If you had two options:

- Move to an agency you are not passionate about/didn’t click with the team, but have an amazing offer/benefits

OR

- Stay at your current agency you love but make considerably less money/there is less potential for upward growth

What would you do?

I accepted a job from a place my friend works. She got me in and I'd be dropping a title level but making the same $ as my previous role. I accept and 1 day later my #1 on the list came through. better title, pay and benefits. The first company is stoked to have me and everyone is nice. I'm sure on the culture. I reached out to company 2 the week before I accepted this offer and they weren't ready, but now they are. They seem great, but so does everyone when you meet them. What do I do?

Accepted an offer, but the day before another company came at to interview. They offer more pay, better benefits, works more in line with what I want. But they haven't given me an offer yet, I just have a very good feeling. If I do get offer 2 how bad is it to go back on offer 1?

I have $50/mo reimbursement on wellness. I'm thinking about one of those therapy apps. What do they cost and How are they? BetterHelp, Talkspace...etc.

Smart agencies: this grand WFH experiment worked and has many benefits for our employees! We should offer flexibility now and in the future.

Dumb agencies: we’ll ignore the wants of our employees, as the best thing for The Agency is to force people back in the office as soon as we aren’t going to be sued. Butts in seats 5 days a week!

I’m at the end of my rope. My AMD went on maternity leave a month ago and at this point, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to get a temp replacement. I’m expected to work up and put together plans for 2022 almost all on my own while taking time to train new AMPs and MPs. My director expects me to delegate to them when they have little to no background.

I know I should probably start looking elsewhere but I feel like with the Great Resignation, it’s going to be the same anywhere else.

Is there generally a penalty if you give your resignation while you’re out on short term disability or FMLA? My employee handbook doesn’t say anything and HR won’t give me any info. I don’t want to get an unexpected letter telling me I owe back healthcare or salary costs because I quit before my leave claim was officially over.

How much are you putting into your 401k? I’m thinking 10% of my paychecks. About me: 29F, 140K annual salary, company match 6%

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now

Does anyone know which agencies or holding companies offer a Roth After Tax 401k contribution option?

What’s it like working at R/GA and 160over90? Culture, benefits, salary, etc.? Give me what Glassdoor can’t.

I’m starting a new job and my current health insurance ends on my last day (then I’m taking a week off) and my new insurance won’t kick in until 6 weeks later. Has anyone been in this predicament? COBRA is hella expensive and I have prescriptions I’ll need to pay for so I need something. Is there legit no other option but to use COBRA in the interim?

My last day at my current job is Wednesday and I’m not starting my new job until 10/4. My health insurance ends on midnight Wednesday. What should I do for those 10 days in between? Seems ridiculous to pay for COBRA for only 10 days.

Been at current agency for a year, loved it and love my team. Pros: Benefits are great, as is the mentorship and work is generally quite stable. Cons: Lower paid

The new agency is smaller and benefits aren’t as good but I’ll get a +45% pay increase and title bump. Work is different to what I’m used to which is both exciting and daunting (imposter syndrome will no doubt kick in!).

Ideal situation would have been to stay in current role another year or two... help!

How much notice would you give for a future paternity leave? In the U.S. so it probably will last about a month.

Is WPP 401k Match a lump sum amount at the end of the year or do they do it monthly? If the former, does that mean if I leave before 12/31 I won’t get that match money?

What are some benefits to starting my career at a large agency vs small, and vice versa?

I’m currently interviewing for both.

I’m trying to take a leave of absence and I need a medical professional to provide evidence for short term disability claim benefits but I haven’t been able to find a PCP or therapist for the past year. I can’t take unpaid leave since I need some income and my healthcare. I’m literally at rock bottom and so burnt out and stressed that I have almost daily anxiety attacks. I don’t know what to do. Anyone else been in this situation and any advice?

Can you provide advice to succeed/survive on the corporate client side?

Moved away from agencies to corporate and it is SOUL SUCKING. Between the lack of flexibility (both personally and day to day), sterile environment, and millions of meetings a day I am going insane.

The pay and benefits are dramatically better in this corporate role, but I won’t lie I am missing the freedom of agencies so much right now.

Negotiating benefits for a new full time job. What are some things I should ask for? I hear there are work from home stipends these days, and I'd like a budget for continuing education that can help further my career, conferences and subscriptions.

Are there signing bonuses any more? Bonuses at the end of year? Some full time jobs in the past I've gotten 100$ bonus others it was dependent on what we made and I got 5kish before taxes.
