What are the Big 4? Discussions

When is it time to leave your Big 4 firm? Been with mine for 2.5 years - right out of college. Is this too long? Am I missing out on money to be made somewhere else?

Big 4 folks - how do some folks get into Director level roles within 10 years of graduation with just a couple of years in each role until the Director level... meanwhile some really talented folks get stuck behind?

Am I underpaid?
BS in business, MS in public policy from top 10 public schools. 2 yoe working in a security operations center & 2 yoe as big 4 consultant (mostly in GRC and SecOps strategy). I have my security + and CISA. 80k base in a MCOL.

Currently I am working as an analyst in risk advisory for a Big 4 but the anxiety is killing me; i want to change jobs and I found a position called sales and operations junior executive which is closer to home but I have absolutely no idea of what this is about

Can you give me some advice? Is it a good position in terms of Work-life balance? What is the day to day like? Is it structured or is it more ambiguous like consulting?

Is T15 attainable with a 710 GMAT (balanced Q/V), 3.8 GPA at a T10 public school (econ/accounting), 2 years in B4 audit / 2 years in B4 TS (FDD), white male? Some notable EC include being a former D1 athlete and currently giving free lessons to youth in disadvantaged communities. I feel like I might have solid chances for Darden, Fuqua, Ross, Johnson, and Anderson though a reality check is greatly appreciated. Determined to break into IB so will focus my post mba goals on that.

Ive routinely heard that really the only exit ops from B4 valuation groups is boutique val firms, FP&A roles, and maaaaaaaybe corp dev (but not likely)

How true is that? And how would a val person stack up against a FDD person for FP&A roles? Who would be more competitive?

I'm in a dilemma because the startup wants me to join on 31st oct while the big4's 3rd round will be held on 1st nov or later. I prefer joining the big4 org more. A little helpless situation because of the diwali holidays. Can I delay the offer for a week more? I had mentioned to them that I'm a immediate joiner also. Please help.

Need serious advice. Been a Digital Strategy consultant for three years, heavy focus on product strategy, research, development. It’s a small but global consultancy (offices in nyc, brasil, colombia). Last whole year been acting as a technical lead on strategy for a team of 40+ consultants across different industries and even sold new projects including new clients considered unicorns. Can I go to MBB as a consultant and/or project lead? My salary is way below average big 4/MBB… don’t have MBA.

Does big 4 manager position require great presentation skills? What I mean is NOT daily interactions with client, but really powerful impactful elevated pitch in front of leadership and a LARGE crowd.

What is the starting salary for a tax associate at a big 4? Got an offer at a smaller firm for $55k. The question is go small firm or big 4?

Im in a B4 deals advisory group making $102k right now and will be up for promo to SA in may. Pay bump to $130k next July should I make it. Currently eyeing a lateral to T2 ( want to do strategy/CDD work) where I’d come in as an associate at $100k ish base. I think the move makes sense given the work better aligns with my long term career goals, but wanted others thoughts on whether it’s not smart given the loss in base for a year or two?

Interned this summer at a small-mid sized “consulting” firm in NYC (seemed more like audit and controls work than anything else). Return offer was 74k plus 5k bonus. Struggled to find any other offers. I now have an offer for a management and technology consultant role at a mid-tier accounting firm for 80k, no bonus. How competitive is this when compared to big 4 entry level salaries in their consulting practices? Any info would be helpful, thank you.
