Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I've worked for the past 3 years in a practice that is heavily consulting based (inbound and outbound structuring) and I feel like I'm only just starting to understand the foundational concepts (where I can explain them clearly to clients) and offering a shred of value. Then I'll have calls where partners discuss complex tax, legal, treasury and other related concepts that all go over my head.. it becomes overwhelming

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Earlier today I was on a video conference call reviewing a Private Label Agreement template with a larger company who wishes to brand label products we develop and manufacture. I have my first solo hearing in front of opposing counsel and the Judge, were asking for a fee multiplier on a contingency case. This is in Florida BTW. Any tips or advice for my first hearing will be greatly appreciated.

There’s been some turnover over the last six months at my firm, and I have taken over more files. I’m having a hard time getting ahead of briefing schedules and have been asking for extensions on a lot of recent briefs. In my practice area it’s never really an issue or objected to. However, I feel guilty that this is still happening. Any tips for getting over this?
