Anyone know the pay bands at visa, mastercard, amex, discover etc at the director, senior director, VP, and SVP levels?

Seeking advice on my wallet CC lineup (2-3 cards). Majority Delta flier if that helps at all. currently have the Amex plat and justified the fee due to a ridiculous sign up bonus but not sure the +$150 is worth. Any thoughts welcome

So you can’t transfer corporate Amex rewards points to travel partner anymore I just learned. What’s the best use of points then? I have Amex Hilton and an old delta. Would love to just ideally transfer them to a partner and cancel my membership fee

I eventually want to be in product management. I just graduated with an electrical engineering degree and work at a big automotive firm. I am in talks with American Express Digital Product group in nyc. Would that be a good move to go to Amex at a young age, or should I get more engineering experience and then later move into PM?

I have an Amex gold and signed up in Jan 2021. Annual fee is about to hit and don’t feel like I get enough use out of the card to renew for another year (the rest of my cards are at Chase and want to keep my points in that system). If I cancel after the annual fee posts is there a risk of Amex clawing back my sign up bonus?

United Platinum here - got an offer to pay ~$6k for upgrade to 1K. Thoughts on if it’s worth it?

Already belong to Club (United Infinite) and have CLEAR credit through Amex Platinum. Still have 40 plus points from hitting Platinum last year.

Unlikely to travel for business until late 2Q at earliest but have 2-3 transcontinental flights planned for summer and 1 transatlantic for fall. Maybe another 1-2 shorter trips this year as well. I imagine I’d use my extra plus points on all these.

Amex platinum with 150k welcome vs Hilton aspire with 200k welcome? Plat is 695+175 and aspire is 450+0 for second card. The fine hotels and resorts is sort of a difference for the platinum. Is it worth it?

Weird question - i know a number of folks who worked in generic marketing or sales type roles who found their way to companies like faang amex/visa, etc, doing similar sales or marketing work.

At one time I had status on most airlines and hotels but I never bothered to focus on accumulating points since it seemed like they were infinite and I booked on convenience. Oh have times changed! I even let go of Amex platinum, just wasn’t worth it to me. Base airport LAX/SNA so no airline pref.

If my amex is classifying things wrong- restaurants as “other” or something, is there a way to reclassify them? I am missing out on 10x point multipliers for categories because they are incorrect:/

Thinking of getting a personal AMEX gold for the rewards and intro points. As the spending has to be significant to qualify for the 20,000 intro points and for it to make sense in general, has anyone else found that their credit score went down due to using AMEX as main spending card? I don’t really need a credit card per se and I just really wanna be able to accumulate points on my spending that I can use as miles/rewards… however not at the expense of my credit score!

Made knee jerk (mistake?) decision last year of signing on to be a Hilton Grand Vacations member ($1500 annual “HOA”, $300/mo. I had already accumulated 300k points as a member, have my Amex Hilton card. Is anyone an HGV member? If so, what’s your actual STRATEGY to make the most of it? I get it - it’s worth it maybe in 20 years if I hold on

Just spent 45min on the phone with Amex customer service to have incorrect interest charges of $0.46 and $1.16 removed from my account. After realizing how long that took, I can’t decide if it was worth it, because fuck Amex having an extra $1.62 of my money or if I should have just cut my losses because it’s literally $1.62
