Title question: Recently I applied to a Senior Data Scientist role, however the title when HR reached out was Senior Analyst, Data Science. They do refer to it as a data scientist, so my question is: is that how it normally is- the title is “analyst”, “manager”, etc and the team is Data Science?

Hey all, transitioned from the military last spring and got a UX product manager position at a bank.

Pay is good, but missing the mission aspect of work. Have interview offers from Microsoft and Amazon for cleared PM work, but most of them are less product manager work and more adjacent program work.

This might just be grass is greener thinking, but would love to hear if you have made the transition if you enjoy cleared PM work or do you wish you stayed in the non-cleared space?

How much does an Account Manager usually is offered for the role?

TLDR - does YoE actually matter much in tech if your within a year or so but otherwise are a fit?
At 6 YoE - and through a weird fluke earlier in my career I ended up managing a large 30+ person dev team - I did a good job and frankly I loved it. Looking to exit consulting to a dev manager or TPM style role and for companies like Meta or Amazon a ton of jobs that I’m otherwise 100% qualified for want 7 years of experience. No formal tech training, and code literate but not a dev.

Have an offer for an analytics & AI technical product manager role in the payments industry. I’m concerned about the specificity on analytics products since they tend not to have all the same features (UI, etc.) that non-analytics products do. Considering making a switch from practicing as a big law corporate senior associate (7th year) to a (non-practicing) practice manager role at another big law firm, primarily for lifestyle change. Other than the pay cut, anyone have insights or made this switch? Thoughts on whether it would difficult to transition back to practice (either in-house or big law) a few years from now if I want to practice again? Would my only exit opps. be to to similar practice management roles at other firms?

My wife is a respected senior manager working in an industry where she has vast experience developing physical products (ie. Currently a SAP Manager at EY. Based out of Dallas making $160,000 base. Accenture is likely to offer a Manager role at $175,000 with $15,000-20,000 sign on bonus. If they don’t agree to pay more, is it still worth moving? How much should I ask for?

I might have an opportunity to work for Amazon as a Senior Program Manager. Is there anyone out there who can tell me what salary, bonus, stock options, etc to be offered for that role?

I joined current company 3 months ago but I’m thinking of leaving. Great pay, career growth opportunity, supportive manager, and gaining leadership experience by managing and hiring the team. However I really do not enjoy the job. It is so uninteresting. It’s a BI Manager role.

I then got a new job offer today to become a Product Manager for a startup that raised its Series B. I want to take it because it’s a great opportunity to try out something new but I feel guilty. What do I do?

Role is sr acct/manager. Will be working on startups so i can expect to roll up my sleeves too. Responsibilities include reviewing staff work, month end close, FS prep and analysis, typical industry stuff but smaller scale

Currently a manager at a B4 AWM tax group mostly focusing on private equity fund, k1s, estimates and such. I always thought if i exit, it would be for an in-house role at a private equity fund and frankly wanted to test out if I can stay and make a partner one day. Currently have an opportunity to join a publicly traded fintech company as a tax manager. Should I take this? Fear of unknown is killing me. Also afraid of not progressing once I go industry as I value the career progression.

Pros/cons to working at a publicly-traded company? Especially compared to an established start-up. Role is Accounting Manager with the typical close and related tasks.
