Looking to get out of public accounting and applied for a Staff Accountant position. The company is known for having a great culture and I’m thinking the schedule will be much better. I’m thinking the compensation will be similar in the new position as what I’m making now so I wouldn’t be getting the normal jump in pay people expect when leaving public accounting. If I were to be offered the position, should I take it? Should I expect a better position if I’m looking for an accounting type role?

Advice needed: Hey guys, currently on a pretty crappy project. Way too much work for what I’m getting paid for, talked to a former director and they said there’s no real career plan. Pretty much stuck in a staff aug role where they just need bodies to do work and client seems to get away with whatever they want (biggest account for us). Seriously contemplating quitting even without a new job lined up. Any advice from someone whose been in a similar spot? Thanks!

2+ Asc. looking at exit opps. in Tech -

1. What's your view on Chief of Staff vs. Product Manager roles at a Tech company post-consulting (e.g., pay, impact delivered, WLB, growth etc.)?

2. What are the chances of a 2+ Asc. getting either of those opps.?

3. Opps. are usually better as EM vs. Sr. Asc. (esp. when you're at the cusp), but it feels like the timeline to EM is getting stretched due to COVID-19. Is it worth waiting 6+ months to get designated, esp. with terrible WLB?

Why would anyone under the age of 25 want to work for a holding company advertising agency? Inbred corruption. History of not hiring people of color. Or hiring them and making them ‘write White’. The history of abusing defrauding and demeaning women. Currently in the middle of a huge ageism epidemic. Human resources that reports right back to managers. Under paying staff while overcharging clients. These agencies will die from lack of clients but even quicker from lack of new talent.
