trying to switch lines of service to an unrelated group but my transfer keeps getting delayed. Going to apply to another firm in the service line I'm trying to go to... Only thing thing is, it's a senior role and I'm a staff 2. Would it be worth applying and seeing if I can come in as a staff?

Anyone else think it’s crazy PwC is hiring right now? Seems like it would have been more effective to give raises or bonuses than having people quit and bringing in new staff. Having people in other underutilized groups like FDD help out seems like a much better solution.

Is it possible to frame staff aug experience in an interview to sell myself for a consulting strategy role? Or at least something less mundane...

Has anyone ever worked as a staff attorney position at an AmLaw 100 firm? Is the position worth it? (I.e. what’s the experience and work like?) And what’s the salary range? I’m a third year litigator looking for a position with less stress and more work life balance. Any thoughts? Thanks

Once you exit to a client, is that not just permanent staff aug?

Found out recently that I am not receiving an offer following final round interview at Big4. Recruiter I’ve been in contact with has been a great help and told me afterwards that they’d be more than happy to pass my resume over to other team leads looking to staff. Is this a common occurrence or was it a kind, courtesy send-off to our time working through the hiring process together?

I’m currently making $68,500 as a staff 2 in risk (unsure how much I’ll make when I’ll get promoted to a S1 next month). I just got an offer for $85-90k from a start up company for a Sr Sox Analyst position. The additional increase in salary is worth the switch right?

Currently working as a Senior Associate in Corporate Finance for a publishing company. Interviewing for start-ups to join the FP&A team leveraging my current FP&A skills. Made it to final rounds of two well known NYC start up companies. A senior leader (chief revenue officer) of one of our business units has pitched a Chief of Staff role for me where I would help him run the business, manage his direct reports and perform strategic analysis.

Hi all, I’m a soon to be audit staff 2. Really interested in forensic work. Is it better to join a consulting firm or get in EY forensic? When is a good time exit audit to be competitive? I know forensics is probably not hiring right now but want to prepare in advance.

As a 1st year senior which would be best for future career opportunities?
- Staff Accountant at FAANG company
- Senior Accountant at F500 company
- Manager/ controller role at smaller company/ start up

Is the hiring slowdown over? I contacted a few firms to inquire about lateral opportunities in late June/early July and was asked to check back in the fall due to hiring freezes. I wonder if I should reach back out or if it's too soon. The news about Skadden's staff layoffs this morning makes me think it's too soon.

What is the hierarchy at your company and the salary differential for each position? We have staff attorney, associate general counsel, assistant general counsel, deputy general counsel, and then general counsel. Thx. I would guess that the ranges are about $25k differential per position.

For those in tax, how many of your interviews involved technical questions? I’m a staff interviewing for an industry role and the interviewer had 10 tax technical questions that she wanted to me to answer - journal entries, depreciation calculation, etc.

My coach just told me he’s leaving the firm when I tried to schedule a meeting. I thought he must’ve found a better position but he sent me a second email saying he’s getting forced out and that he will explain everything next week. Kind of weird. Why would he tell me that and what is there to explain to me, a staff 2? Currently at one of the big tech firms. Been here for less than 2 years, enjoy it for the most part. Very comfortable as well with amazing benefits, decent WLB, and not bad pay. Would you leave this role for a 80% raise for a startup Chief of Staff role? Would go from around $140-160K TC to $250K but not sure if the instability, more hours, more limited career growth is worth it. (4 YOE out of UG)

Also how likely staff and senior at big4 work on the previous engagement while they are on the current engagement! At my current firm, working on previous jobs (clear note, complete some open procedures) while being on a the current job is a must

I’m a current Staff 2 Tech Consultant at EY with a DevOps background, how hard/ reasonable is the jump to an Associate Product Manager role?

Currently small market tax Staff making $55k and expecting the 7.5% raise to Senior in October. Could make $70k plus a bonus at another opportunity in town. Would essentially be making 10-15k more this year and likely more money next year to. Other op is not an accounting role and has a path to grow. Thoughts?

A position i applied for is “Staff Accountant and Office manager”. It has office duties such as perform general office support, maintain office supplies, and filing as well as all the staff accountant tasks. I asked why they combined the role and they said they wanted an accountant to control the admin/ costs and approve expenses. I’m currently in PA- would this be a reg flag on a resume to accept a role like this? They are paying pretty well.

Have an offer for staff accountant role but it’s only a 17% pay bump. External recruiter says that’s the max, but this was the first offer made by the company, would they really max out on the first offer? Is there anyway to negotiate, I was hoping for 20%?
