Hello All, I’ve been laid off for 7 months and have had no luck landing a job. I’m really frustrated at this time and was wondering if anyone is hiring? I’ve applied to over 300+ jobs and haven’t had any leads. I have experience working as an Implementation Consultant for a Healthcare software company. Please help.

If I get laid off, who should I go to for a letter of recommendation for MBA application?

Layoffs are obviously always sensitive to message - what’s the best approach you’ve seen a firm take to doing so? Not the individual conversations for those getting laid off, but leadership’s broader communications to the firm leading up to and announcing the decision.

I was recently laid off. Feel frustrated as I have not been able to do my search properly as I take care of my infant all day long. What do I do?? I feel so lost. I want to go out there and do a aggressive search but each day passes by and I am doing chores all day. I feel so helpless. As much@as taking care of@my kid is gratifying and as much as I love and enjoy it, I want to get out there and work! What do I do. I need help.

Anyone else feel like their actual work is very disconnected from their paycheck? If I do a great job and create a ton of value for the client I’ll get a maximum of a 15% TC increase YOY (much less due to covid). Similarly if I do the absolute minimum it’s really hard to be fired since I’m in a hot market and they can’t decrease my TC without cutting my base pay (which I’m 99% sure they won’t do). And my raise/bonus won’t even necessarily be indicative of my performance anyways.

Anyone sent out a super important deck and then sit in wonder if the data is correct and if it is wrong, defo going to get fired?

if u have a gap in ur resume of a few months due to being laid off last year, is it better to admit that you were laid off and were looking for jobs or come up with another (admittedly false) reason for the gap? considering some have biases against people that were laid off...even though they shouldn’t

I got laid off from deloitte. Now i work in cre asset management. I don't love my job. I am on visa (opt stem) . I need to work on finding happiness with my work to be more productive and be happy. I am very depressed and therapy isn't helping. If anyone is in a similar situation or can offer support or advice I would greatly appreciate it. TIA.

L6 at Accenture - likely getting THE call. Does anyone if there is any severance package and if so, what is it?

Thoughts on joining a boutique consulting firm during this economy? Is it typically viewed as safer or riskier than bigger firms? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I know many of the bigger firms had layoffs but I imagine they have much more in the pipeline/budget/resources whereas boutique firms may or may not have had layoffs (is there a reputable source about this online?) but have fewer of the other items.

I know that the layoffs have been grim in public accounting but just remember that this means that we are doing an amazing job at surviving Covid! :)

Folks, any advice on applying for jobs at a previous client? As a firm we have great relationships with the senior client leadership and I am afraid that the GEP and my RL will eventually find out when I submit my job application. On the other hand, if I tell my RL prior to applying, I will probably end up towards the top of “people to be laid off” list.

If you get laid off due to performance in a protected state, will you employer still be required to pay out accrued vacation, sick, and personal days?

Was laid off from D recently and have been interviewing primarily for strategy roles. Curious for any advice converting in final rounds. I have been through several at this point and not gotten the offer. Received very positive feedback from the teams about my performance but in each case they said it was very competitive and ended up going with someone with slightly more direct experience. Tough to go through several 6+ week multi round processes and not convert. Any help or advice appreciated!

Does your unemployment insurance claim start date have to be after you received your severance? Why is it taking so long to figure this out? So frustrating in an already stressful time of a layoff

Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. I know opportunities are far and few between right now, but looking for either energy or supply chain consulting role. Open to travel once resumed. I have heard rumors that layoffs happening at Accenture at the moment. Is that true? Which groups are impacted?

We use Deloitte India for a number of parts of our delivery. Recently I have seen some unethical practices that violate labor laws and do not align with Deloitte principles. My manager says it isn’t my problem as they are a vendor but I can’t help thinking I have an ethical responsibility to do something. Any advice as to how to approach this without being fired?

4 years at Accenture were stressful, left to go to Deloitte for $22k salary bump and hope for better culture, then COVID layoff happened. If I try returning to Accenture, which is the best division to try returning to (with generic consulting skills) and why? Not looking for "division spirit/pride," looking for insight into which divisions have better pay/culture/WLB/etc.

I consider myself extremely talented in the tech field and have contributed to many well used libraries and frameworks but I can’t even get an interview anywhere I apply.
