McKinsey zoom case interviews are video or just audio interviews ?

Is 50k difference in comp worth the jump from strategy consulting to PE investing team?
(I’m really good at my job now and have been able to find pockets of opportunities to slack off and relax)

Listened to Salesforce earnings call. Sales and Service Cloud seems to still lead the revenue stream. A “lot of measured” decisions at client end. Guidance narrowed for Q3 and FY. Seems next few qtrs are going to see some slow downs.

Mark repeatedly talked about Slack everything and $10Bn buyback (21st Sep Investor day). Opex reduction was mainly due to reduced hiring and Real estate space releases. Forex related losses were highlighted.

How are client reacting at your projects?

I am devops engineer with 4+ years of exp and i am joining a new company next week and in roles and responsibilities company had mentioned powershell, terraform and slack app deployment. I want to work with cloud side. I am not sure what this slack app deployment is?? Help me fishes, Will there any learning for me as a devops engineer in this ???

Have an interview tomm. with two RSM partners via webex. Has anyone given partner round recently ? What kinda questions do they ask & what exactly do they look for ? Certainly don’t think any Technical questions up at that level. However, correct me if i’m wrong.

We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor. Anyone find a solution for this (aside from standing up and moving, which would be very awkward)? I can't rearrange my office.

I declined an offer from a Bangalore based small-cap company due to location constraints. Because I got better offer in my hometown. But the HR and Manager is continuously calling me and trying to convince me to join them. They set up a zoom call tomorrow again. How to say NO politely

Any advice for making conversations on zoom go smoother? Always feel like I’m interrupting or that the conversation is super choppy but if I pause too long after saying something sometimes it’s just awkward and silent

I’m starting to appreciate how on early zoom calls everyone else on video looks a little sleep deprived too 🤪

Hi maybe someone can give me some insight. I would really appreciate some feedback. So about a month ago I received an email from a manager telling me that my resume was forwarded to her and she would’ve loved to set up an interview. The interview was done via zoom I thought it went well . I was then scheduled for 2nd interview that went well also . A week after the second interview I sent her an email for a follow up she responded and said that they were gonna make a decision that Friday.

What are the best WFH laptops, or laptops you hate and would avoid at all costs?
Contract company has me on a loaner Lenovo think pad that doesn’t work well. The performance suffers when im both on virtual desktop and zoom, so I have to use an iPad to zoom otherwise my audio cracks out. I’ll be buying a new laptop soon and need ideas. Ideally around or under $1,500 - I do get some reimbursement so money isn’t a deciding factor.

I have a Skype meeting with a recruiter regarding a SOC Analyst 1 (WAF) role. I know they’ll ask me about compensation. I’m not sure what the going salary is or how to go about answering the question without scaring them away. — I’m currently a DoD IT Specialist and this would be my first role in cyber. I meet the requirements for qualifications - about 50-60%. I have a Bachelors in Business and Masters in Cybersecurity with a focus on Threat Detection as well as come entry level certs.

Its very unfortunate that I have to post it here like this, never thought I will be in this situation ever. So today, My current comp has laid me off on a zoom call along with other employees and that too with just 1 months salary.

I am management graduate having overall 7 years of technology consulting, SAP implementation, program management and strategy consulting experience.

US based. Thinking of working from abroad for a few weeks. My current client uses WebEx for meetings. Has anyone based in US experienced any issues accessing WebEx from an international location? I can switch on roaming on my phone if needed but will I run into issues connecting to WebEx for example in Canada or in Mexico? TIA

I didn’t get paid today. If payday (the 15th) is Monday, I get paid Saturday. Plus, my bank has been paying me 1 day early for months. My friend at another company (same bank), got paid yesterday. Slack’d my manager, they didn’t get paid either. Coworker, same company, on a different team got paid.

I might need to term an employee for performance (located in CA). The term meeting will be conducted remotely via Zoom with her manager as well so he can go over the term reasons and I will be covering HR stuff (term paperwork, benefits, paycheck, COBRA, etc). It will be my first time terminating someone, let alone doing this virtually. Any advice?
