Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

Is vacation time negotiable? I currently get 20 vacation and I have received an offer and it looks like 10 days.

I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?

Three days later recruiter wants to give me a call and “give an update”. Schedules it after 2 days. This morning cancels last minute as they are having “internal discussions”. Anyone else extremely disappointed in the raises they’re giving us after the results of the CPA? My hardline informed me today and I instinctively went to LinkedIn to look at new jobs.

These numbers aren’t sustainable, especially with the amount they’re paying poachees from other orgs and what I’ve seen from other companies.

Hey I currently have two exit offers from Big 4, senior accountant for internal audit at Comcast and then the other being financial reporting for Five below. Had a bunch of interviews and these two positions were on the top of my list. I know it’s a good problem to have but now split between the decision to make. Does anyone own an LV Capucines? My heart has been set on that for a while now but I see it’s prices keep going up, up, up!
