How do you balance your social life with work? I feel like all my non-law friends are out doing shit every night and living it up on the weekends and I just can't. Has anyone actually found love at work? My best friend started at a new company 6 months ago and she just took an offer somewhere else because she and her senior manager fell for each other. After 6 months she knew it was worth leaving her job for! I've been working at the same place for three years and I went on one date with a guy who didn't even work with me he just worked in the building. What am I doing wrong.

Yet another friend/colleague got engaged this weekend. It’s become impossible to celebrate people’s relationships. I’m a POC woman and I’ve been single since coming to the US 10 yrs ago. I just learned I was parentified severely, especially emotionally. The discovery came from outside of therapy, but having a place every week to sit down, slow down & reflect def led to it. Being enmeshed with my parents like this was a cause for my anxiety, low self esteem and workaholic, people pleasing tendencies.
