My doc won’t allow me to increase my dosage, so I’ve started taking bc that lessens the occurrences of my cycles to once every three months so it’s not just half the time 😒
Exercise, exercise and xanax
Keeps the demons at bay and adds the dopamine needed. I noticed my PMDD which is comprbid reduce and my brain functions better. Less anxiety too
Lucky me I was diagnosed with PMDD which is basically extreme PMS my attitude awful in the days leading up to my period and resolves usually at the onset of my period. The way I deal with it is to just withdraw from as much as I can and push through. I allow myself to sleep in a little bit and I stop and get the good coffee on my way in and treat that as my something special for making it through and accomplishing my tasks for the day.
I am very incentive functioning so if I tell myself after I finish this task I will go get a snack from the machine or allow quick walk it usually. It’s especially useful in the days leading up to my period.
I suppose it could. I noticed that my PMDD got more manageable after I got off birth control. It still flares in the week before my period but it’s not nearly as bad as it was when I was stressed at work and on bc. I think having a husband who knows how to handle me and that this is something I deal with has been really helpful. Having a job where I can work from home if I am not feeling well has made a huge difference.
My doc allows me to increase my dosage that week. Otherwise, I'm useless.
It helps occasionally on days I'm really tired, but my burnout is only fixed with rest and self-care.
I take an extra 10mg on top of my regular 20. Any more, and I wouldn't be able to sleep. I do it for 3-5 days, depending on how I'm doing. I also get concerned about dependency, so I usually decrease my dose on days I don't work or sometimes skip it completely on weekends.
I really depend on to-do lists and I have also found this focus elixir from Arbonne that has helped me on days where I really need to buckle down. The to do lists really help me focus on the MUST GET DONE so I feel a bit more in control on those days where my brain seems to be bouncing every which way
I’m turning 40 and I feel like my symptoms have gotten worse over time. I’m lucky enough that my periods are quite regular so now I put a calendar reminder a week before and try not to schedule as much social events that week. Or work things (but often you can’t control that). I find planning relaxation time has helped me mentally and physically prepare even when there are still a lot of things to do. I also have upped my Ritalin dose but it doesn’t always work. Eating healthy, resting well is key for me especially during that time… if you can swing it.
I try to give myself grace and admit my struggles to others. We're only human, and the environment were living in is NOT conducive to needing a little help and understanding sometimes.
