Hello All,
I have recently joined FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.
Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?
Can anyone please guide?
I’m a Pro now, baby!
I have an offer from Capco, it was much lower then I expected for the SC level EA at £80k. I'm at a stable role at a bank with a great WLB. My wife is a front line work. So I can take care of the baby, with the next coming soon. My dilemma is, become a consultant or stay where I am at. Consulting looks attractive as I would be speed up my career progression. Though the travel costs and child care does not warrant the base salary Capco Should I take the hit and join capco?

I would actually share this info. You have protections once you’ve announced. You can ask for this information to stay private between you and HR or you and the manager and receive any needed accommodations. Without sharing info, and if you consistently pop out to eat/pee/throw up they can use that as a strike to terminate you.
Hard disagree. As someone who was laid off while pregnant, let me assure you that pregnancy is in no way a protection against terminations (unless you can prove you were let go BECAUSE of your pregnancy, which can be very difficult itself). Also, many people choose not to share pregnancy news until 20 weeks because of the myriad things that can change or go wrong up to that point. OP, I am wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby! But if, god forbid, anything bad happens, most people don’t want to have to be going through that publicly at work. There is no reason to disclose the pregnancy at this point, and there is zero guarantee that you asking someone to keep this news private will actually prevent the word from getting out.
All that said, I think it is absolutely fine to bring a snack with you to your meetings. It absolutely makes sense, as others have commented, to eat before the meetings, and for sure, if you’re able to put a smoothie or similar into a non-transparent cup, that will be less noticeable, but I also think it is fine to bring a healthy snack with you and consume it during the meeting. I’d try to avoid anything loud, like chips or something in loyd packaging, but something like a Lara Bar wouldn’t faze me at all, if one of my subordinates ate that during a meeting. Your health comes first! And your privacy is also important, so please don’t disclose if you’re not comfortable. Congrats on the pregnancy!!
I would suggest having a filling healthy breakfast of something that doesn’t cause a sugar rush just before the meeting, something like oatmeal. Can you have something like a smoothie with you in the meeting that you can sip occasionally?
Bring snacks to your meeting!
Congratulations!
Whether or not you choose to share the information at this time, there are sensible things you can do to manage your hunger during long meetings.
Eat some high-protein (ditch the high/simple carb options as they will exasperate the problem with a crash in the middle if your meeting) snack just before the meeting.
Add protein to your meeting beverage (collagen peptides powders, such as Vital Proteins, dissolve easily and have little impact on beverage flavour, even plain teas). Switch out your normal water or tea with a sipping bone broth (which you can also augment with collagen peptides). Also, add prebiotic fibre to your beverages as they help with feelings of satiety (Benefiber have a prebiotic fibre powder packaged in individual packs for easy portability).
Also bring *quiet* high-protein snacks to consume discretely during the meeting, if needed.
