How did everyone here get into sales? Would love to hear your stories!

I was getting out of the military, had no directly transferable work skills, and needed to make a living in an expensive city (San Diego). Started looking at my options and found that I could do menial labor for just above minimum wage OR I could learn to get people to buy things and make this wonderful thing called commission! Took a job in insurance sales and the rest is history! Been in sales for about 15 years now ❤️

Hello Fishes, I'm planning to join Deloitte india in the second week of November, I have got a designation of "Manager". I'm from a technical background (SF DevOps).

May I know what would be the roles and responsibilities with this designation? Am i supposed to be managing some team/people?? or work within some team on my particulars. Checked with the recruitment team but they seems to either not interested or not sure about the same.

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

Does PHR certification help in India, as this is globally recognised how much valuable is this currently in indian job market.

Do we got some good offers or its another certificate just to add to CV after so much of investment & time I don't want to get this wasted !!

Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. My interview got over on June 29th right after the interview the recruiter called me and told I’m selected and they will be sending the offer letter. He mentioned there will be a delay in releasing the offer letter since merging is happening right now. few days back I sent a mail to HR.. but no reply. and after that I received a mail stating they are no longer considering me for this position. Young professional with 3 years of retail banking experience, 1 year of claims experience, and now roughly 6 months into insurance sales. Between selling in retail banking environment and every month of insurance sales regularly pacing 200% or over to goal. Loving comp but not loving the call center environment and hoping to move to another lucrative sales position with less non stop calls. Any suggestions?

On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.
