I’ve been considering doing the same thing. I’m currently seeing a therapist and she is helping cope with the depression but it’s a slow process. I’m planning to see my PCP and asking for a letter or something to provide to HR to see if there is a way to take an extended leave. If I can get even some reduced compensation, that would be good to manage my expenses but even if that’s not possible, I’d still want to take an extended leave. And if that’s not possible, I want to walk away with nothing lined up. Can you elaborate on why you trying to take leave didn’t work?
Ask your doctor for a two week leave. This is paid and then once u do u can talk to ur doctor abt short term
Leaving without anything lined up sounds scary, but speaks of how burnt out you should be. I definitely commend you for taking action towards improving your mental health. Just beware of not putting yourself through even more stress by being unemployed. Good luck!
