What are the Big 4? Discussions

I work as an accountant at a B4 firm. I am a senior accountant that performs well, but my biggest flaw is that I struggle with ADHD and have had chronic sleeping issues since middle school. Combined with the meds, I can sometimes oversleep (if i took them late from waking up too late the prior day) or be groggy.
I have every alarm you can think of - classic alarm clock, phone, watch, zapping-watch, vibrating thing for pillow — literally all you can think of.

Thoughs on Industry M&A Tax or IRS Revenue Agent (LB&I) exit from Big 4 Tax Manager?

I haven't worked specifically in M&A tax but my background is ITS so I've worked on a number of M&A transactions. Opportunity to be an M&A Manager for a fintech company, 100% remote. Seems like there would be some busy times but no more tax compliance. The IRS is appealing due to the benefits and strict 40 hour work week but I would be taking a 20k pay cut, although the cost of benefits is likely less.

Got an offer from pwc in the data privacy role.
With 13.5 Lpa currently i’m at 12 and made switch on march.
Though my current company is an mnc but not that big and no work pressure is there, amazing work life balance. However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. Please help me decide. Yoe -3.5

Better to change to EY or PwC as a first year audit senior? Have B4 experience in audit, just wondering about both firms and if it would be good to switch before or after busy season. Mainly looking to leave my current B4 for a decent pay bump

Are technical skillsets in hot areas (like cybersecurity) rewarded/sought after by the bigger firms (MBB/T2/B4)? My concern is that a technical person, even if they are a good at managing a team and growing the business, would be limited due to not having an MBA or something similar. Any thoughts on that?

Trying to decide between competing offers: Engagement Manager at MBB or Director at Big 4? Comp packages appear to be very similar 🤷🏼‍♂️

Current role: Director in Large public healthcare company.
T2 MBA, 5.5 yoe post MBA
Experience:
2/3 years at B4 in m&a, and then 2/3 years in corporate strategy in large healthcare co.

Seriously contemplating going back to consulting for better pay, due to change in personal circumstances WLB is not as imp as it when I left consulting but ofc not keen on working 70/80 hours.

Seems like the leverage in the industry for remote only is starting to swing back. And I know that at least from the Big 4, that hiring remote is a last resort (pushing for a cities with offices). How is everyone feeling about it? Will it stand? I work at an agency with no office where I live so im grandfathered in, but will also affect any future prospects if remote goes back to pre-pandemic acceptance levels.

Senior manager in audit here. What increase could I expect from switching Big 4 firms and staying in audit? Base is ~130K.

What does an average day look like for a entry level cloud consultant at B4? Do you work more in excel/PowerPoint or are you actually hands on with AWS/Azure/GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes,Jenkins, Docker etc?

What is normal, average cash bonus % for managers and SM in big 4?

Would moving from B4 M to Cap One product M a good move if it comes with a 18% pay cut?
I don’t want to be in consulting and don’t want to be an SM. but also don’t want to take a step down career wise. I figure if I am going to leave I might as well do it sooner than later so can actually specialize in something instead of being a consulting generalist

anyone work in logistics/supply chain consulting at B4? Have a friend interested but is coming from industry and doesn't know if he'd be qualified

My background check came back with a discrepancy in graduation dates. I noted May 2009 but it was actually December 2009. They asked for an explanation which I provided - an honest mistake, it’s been a while I don’t remember the month in which I graduated.
Is this a reason for concern?

Other than exceptional circumstances, are all big 4 + A under a hiring freeze? Seems like all companies have hunkered down and are getting ready for the recession/slow down next year.

I have some experience in cost mgmt/optimization field and want to join big 4 for better exposure. Are these teams currently actively hiring?

I currently work at B4 in audit, I’m really hate the work and the WLB, here for about 7 months. I’ve considered leaving to become say a data analyst. I know python, sql, r etc. if I were to become a data analyst with I would probably have to go to a less prestigious company, would this be a bad move? I don’t have an interest in getting my CPA, or accounting. Only reason I did it was because people said it was a good degree. I enjoyed all my data analytics courses much more in uni.

Subsequently i interviewed with mid size company( 900 crs reve inr), offering me Strategy Manager @ 35 LPA ( 11% var Inc). Have to closely work with CEO and directly report to him.
Pleas advise i have join urgently but current company is having 90 days..
