What differentiates a Manager vs an Associate offer / interview process at McKinsey?
For 8+ years industry exp and 2 years consulting at T2?
Any suggestions on which route to take?

Currently an Associate Manager (which is the level below Manager in ACN Tech) and applied for a Manager role at big4. I have 7.5 YOE. I’ve completed all interview stages already. The salary I’m demanding is too high so they are considering offering SM after I come back for another interview. Bad move or good opportunity?

Can I start applying for jobs with 2 yrs of exp in SAP BODS and one AWS CP and developer associate certificate?

Had multiple rounds including case study, final round, and gave references for a lateral UMM associate role. No other candidates made it to the reference stage but the firm ended up not extending an offer. References went well (they told me) and it’s more of a timing thing and waiting for a 2022 start. Has anyone been in this spot before? Any advice for how to proceed and turn this into a better outcome? Pretty tough especially now that I’ve exposed my intent to leave my current firm

Fellow 🐠, need some advice. My wife used to work for Accenture for 7 yrs and had to quit job, as she had to come to US with me. She has not been working for close to 6 yrs now, as she did not have work authorization. Now she has received work authorization and would like to join back but haven’t been able to land any interviews. She has a IAM background and did some proactive aws certs. Any guidance to get into a consulting firm as an entry level associate? She just wants to get back to work..

Is applying to T2/b4 strategy firms doable for me? Currently ~2 YOE in a Transformation role at a less prestigious, well known firm (below tier 2) and think that I’d like to switch to strategy. Masters and good UG resume. I started looking at associate/analyst roles but don’t have referrals. Will lack of referrals hurt me? Are those entry level jobs the ones I should be focused on? I know it’s tough to transition into those firms so I want to make sure I’m not wasting my time. TIA!

@KPMG folks, I am in the process of interviewing for an Associate role for Deals Advisory and Independence. I was initially offered -what feels like- a lowball offer of 65 for NYC.

Any thoughts on whether this is lowball, and how to approach a negotiation? Dearly appreciated.

Have an offer in hand for an AmLaw100 lockstep. Corporate / M&A mid level associate. Didn’t use a recruiter (attorney referral from inside firm). Mostly satisfied with the offer. Procedurally how should I go about negotiating things like signing bonus, full bonus vs pro rated bonus / Covid bonus eligibility? Obviously this would normally be done recruiter to recruiter. Do I contact the internal recruiter or one of the head partners I interviewed with? Email vs call?

I'm a junior associate at a national insurance defense firm that was just offered an interview at an AmLaw 200 regional firm in their commercial litigation practice group. 1900 billable requirement and an opportunity to touch different areas of law at a full service firm, so I am jumping at the opportunity. Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅

I got interviewed at PwC for Associate role in Delivering Deal Value (DDV) practice. The interview was taken by a senior manager. It was a good experience (around 30 mins duration). He told me that the next round would be conducted by director. But it's been more than 15 days since the interview and there is no communication for further rounds. Does it confirm a rejection?? It would be great if someone could give some clarity in this as it was a dream role for me.
