I have a 45 min interview with HR for a associate position at McK ops/implementation. Any tips on what to expect? I’m doing basic prep on fit and behavioural but not going crazy as it’s an intro call. Insights would be greatly appreciated:)

Anyone have experience working in a venture counsel position at WSGR? I have an interview coming up and would like to know 1) if it is a good job, and 2) how much it differs from a corporate associate position.
For context, I am not currently in big law so this would likely be a step up for me.

I'll have an interview with 3 tax experts at BDO for tax associate position. I think this is an entry-level position for tax but please correct me if Im wrong. Is this interview hard? Will there be technical questions in tax that only experienced tax associate can answer? P/S: I have no tax experience. Only passed CPA exam, so will my cpa knowledge help me survive?

Advice on moving to smallish law firm? I am a 10+ year associate in a specialty practice. I have worked at 3 big law firms. I am pretty done with biglaw and I have been investigating in-house options, but they are not easy to find in my specialty. A smallish law firm called me and I agreed to interview. Not sure if this would be a good or bad idea. Any input would be appreciated. They are selling themselves as a work/life balance firm. Thank you!

Thougts on this - I’m an associate in big law real estate transactions team. 8 months in.already feeling swamped and can’t see this going on for the next years as it likely just gets worse.
Been interviewing for a smaller firm litigation dep. hours are perfect and pay is manageable. Am I making the right choice or should I stick it out more? No debt issue, as school is paid for, so it’s just a personal preference. Will I regret it?

What is a good exit into tech (title and TC) for an Associate (A2) at BCG (~1.5 years tenure) and a master's degree? Had a few interviews but always get stuck on the title/compensation expectation questions!

Hi All! Had a few questions about referrals for MBB:

1. Does the level of the person referring you matter a lot or just a bit? I'm not talking partners but mostly EM/PL vs Associate/BA etc.

2. Does the geographic location of the person referring you matter? Does it matter if the person is not in the office you're applying to?

3. Any folks at Bain or McK looking to refer me? 😂

Does it make sense to focus on title when exiting to tech? Interviewing for an “associate” role at a cyber security company which would technically be a lateral title at best, but base comp would be higher to begin with so from a comp perspective, definitely a step up? Thanks!

I have an interview tomorrow and I know the interviewer will ask me the reason as to why i would like to make the move. I know some partners take it positively if an attorney is making a switch because of money, however, I am not sure how to answer this question and not make myself sound like too much money-motivated since a lot of partners don’t like it. Base compensation for Valuations Associate at A&M? Currently applying, HCOL city.

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

Recently interviewed and given a verbal offer from KPMG. Proposed increased was ~ 105k. Originally was looking to get around 115k. Can anyone from KPMG shed some insight if this a decent offer? It seemed like the max they were willing was 105 but Idk the pay bands at KPMG to know if I’m getting lowballed. Its a senior associate, data analytics role. Appreciate any insight.

if you lateral over as an experienced hire (2nd year associate or 1st year senior) to another consulting firm, how do interviews work? Should I expect case interviews?

Why are some firms so strict with the yoe policy? Spoke to the partner for a manager role and they said I’m short 5 months for the manager role - this is after all the interviews and I’ve performed. Now they want me as a senior associate for 1 year before I can be a manager
