There is an opportunity with my existing client (VP position) reporting to a different SVP than the one our teams SOW is under. I'm thinking of applying for it. How would you (or have you) approached this situation? I worried about applying, not getting the position, and risking my existing job or SOW. Thoughts?

Guys what is the big step up from Associate to VP? Currently at a boutique but interviewing for a relatively big and well known bank so I am a bit clueless on how a VP would operate in a much bigger environment than mine.

Have been interviewing with a bank for about a month now. First 4 interviews with the MD & VP went well. Just had an interview now with a VP and the guy was kind of a jerk. Super critical of my background and just generally wasn’t very nice. Does anyone have success stories after one bad round?

Interviewing with a small internal strat team (currently 3 FTEs) led by the CSO. One VP was awesome, Ex MBB really energetic/excited is with 1.5 yrs in tenure. Then interviewed with the other VP and Manager. They weren’t great, overall not quite at the same level as the VP in terms of professionalism and pedigree. They were very tactical and felt more like middle managers without vision. The latter two seem to have grown up in the company (3-4 years)

For VC recruiting, is it best to go through HHs, or try to work my network? And when reaching out to network is it better to aim for informational interviews with associate level folks or VP/partner where possible?

Nailed all the interviews including great feedback from hiring VP on the final round who said I should expect to hear on next steps shortly. Later found out another candidate is being offered the role. Should I connect with the VP and let them know I was looking forward to working with them and maybe keep me in mind for future roles.

What are good questions to ask an interviewer for a VP role?

I have an interview for a VP level consulting role and wanted some ideas on questions to ask the Interviewers. I am interviewing with the CSuite so won’t be a hiring manager or anything.

My first is with the VP of HR, then the COO then the CTO, CIO, etc... I have 7 interviews and don’t want to ask everyone of them the same questions.
