I see job posts from consulting firms looking for senior analysts/associates and the requirements are calling for 1-3 years of investment banking experience.

Specific example: guidehouse has a “financial analyst - senior consultant” position available on LinkedIn calling for 1-3 years IB. This has got to be a dream requirement right? Do IB analysts making $150k+ really leave to make half? Just seems like these positions would never get filled to me

Offered $172k for a Manager role in Tier 1 market. Seems low. Making $168k at Deloitte as a SC but making the move because I like the KPMG team better. Just wondering what the manager pay range is and whether my offer was low.

I received a verbal offer for a senior consultant position with Deloitte’s Risk and Financial Advisory for GPS but was also told that the position would be tied to a USDC. I am based in the DC area and was told that I could be hired to a delivery center during the interview process since they are remote. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Would I receive Deloitte advisory benefits or the USDC benefits?

Accepted an offer for a senior consultant position but I’m regretting accepting it so quickly as I should’ve asked for a manager title. Is there anyway to politely ask for them to consider a title change or even a mid year promotion? I haven’t started yet.

I was offered a SC role at 125k base. I have a competitive offer for 135k TC.
I told my recruiter that I have a competitive offer & can’t accept the D’s unless it’s 140k base given their benefits. Recruiter came back with 130k. This recruiter has lied to the hiring manager that I accepted the offer even before sending me the offer letter( called Hiring Manager) Process took 3 months.
My Q is - recruiters at D have leverage to raise the compensation and generate a new offer letter?

Looking for some advice... I am up for promotion to senior consultant for end of year (most likely won’t find out results for a while). Do I have a shot at applying to a senior con level position at another firm before I *hopefully* get the promo?

What’s the pay band for a senior consultant position in the Tech Strategy position at EY? Was told by a manager during my second round interview I would come on as an S1 or S2 with potential to move up to manger in 1-2 years

I am being offered senior consultant position at Deloitte and I want to weigh the benefits with a counter offer I have. Can someone let me know how are 401k, pension plan and PTOs at Deloitte?

Would they all start right away ? Or vested over time at D ?

Thoughts on a lead/senior associate role for internal AI at Booz Allen?
A recruiter reached out. I am an SC at D and so it would be one level up. And they say that as an internal (strategic?) role with people management, it'd have high visibility with leadership at BAH.
But I have no idea whether internal roles are seen as a backwater of some kind relative to client facing stuff. They say there's no bureaucratic thing that separates me into a different talent group from consulting.

I have an interview with Deloitte tomorrow and part of that process will be to determine if I would be a better fit for the consultant or senior consultant role. I have almost 2 years of workday experience, any thoughts on which would be a better fit? Also what would the salary range be for both of those roles in Chicago?

So I’m up for manager. My coach, reviewers, and leaders I’ve worked with have all supported my promotion, but my coach told me she has no idea what promotions will look like/who will be promoted due to market downturn, etc. I’m sure I’m not alone in this (she is up for SM), but I’m torn. If I get promoted and get a measly raise, then I’m playing catch up until I leave the firm. If I don’t get promoted, then I spend another year doing M work with SC title. Anyone in similar position? Thoughts?

Booz Allen reached out for a "Solutions Architect, Lead" role related to data science. 8+ YOE is a basic qualification. Definitely not an individual contributor role.
How does this correlate with the C/SC/A/LA/VP levels? And any idea on pay range?
And it's an internal role. Is that a role seen in a poorer light than BAH client facing roles?

I am a <2 consulting YOE PhD *student* (with nonMBA biz MS) applying for a SC position in HC at big4.

In discussing salary, should I aim for MBA/PhD, MS, or somewhere in between?

With my field’s salary report and the Management Consulted salary report, I have a good idea of what each tier commands.

I think I’m pretty underpaid so thinking of asking for a ~20% raise at my annual review. Currently at a boutique firm making 90k base and 5%bonus, 5 YEO (3 industry, 1 as software consultant, 1 in my current role as a senior consultant), Top ranked specialty MS degree, MCOL city. Is this a reasonable request? Going to bring in some “market research” aka Glassdoor screenshots. Any other advice?

Hello, I got an offer from Mckinsey for a Junior Specialist role. 1. Is anyone able to clarify the difference between the 'specialist' and 'generalist' pathways and how each track looks like? Is the 'specialist' pathway a second tier consultant within the firm or are both pathways equally good? 2. Coming in from being a SC in a big 4 company to a junior specialist in Mckinsey, is this a step down or is it an equivalent position to SC? I'd really appreciate your insights! Thanks.

Finding it very difficult identifying an exit opportunity into industry(preferably tech) from a generalist cyber security path. Have done resilience, cyber policy, privacy, IAM, data protection, etc and am a high performer that manages projects as the acting manager, although a SC. However, I can’t identify a fast ball to cater it to roles in the industry. Anyone have tips that you can share on how to choose roles to apply for? Any inputs will be much appreciated!
